Hi guys

I just ordered a set of OEM engine mount only to find out that they are the wrong ones, of course this was only after removing the old ones.

Am I wrong on this or has some one else spotted this?

Real OEM has
Engine mount 211812283798

But I pulled from the car
22116754608
And when I search this part I get its used in Z1 and E39.

The part phisically does not fit because of the that indentation on the bottom that is in the wrong place.

Has anyone found this issue?

211812283798 is what I’ve got in my US spec Z4 M. Here’s the DIY write up from Pelican: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm

Ditto. My old (OEM) ones also looked exactly like this.

I followed the DIY from Pelican but the 798 engine mount doesn't actually fit in. Because of that bump.

How is this possible???

Did you look up the p/n specific to your VIN? Maybe it’s region specific...

Yes I did, I used the Vin.

I am giving it another go today, I was looking at front frame pictures and there are 2 holes for that tab on the engine mount.

As soon as I realized that the engine mounts that I had installed and the new ones were diff I stopped everything and put the old ones back in there.

I’m willing to bet the proper M ones will fit and the previous owner just put in e39 ones. Keep us posted.

Right on the money, but it's worse, some idiot installed 1 engine mount from a Z1/E39 on the left side and a correct mount on the right.
Been riding like that for 5 year *♂

Shifting is smother, quieter.

Thanks for the help 3002tii

You say that now till you start seeing other ancillary mods

For improved oe feel without breaking the bank, I really like my CDV delete + AKG cups + RE trans mounts + ZHP knob finished off with RP flush. All little improvements that add up to much smoother shifting.
