Header Compatibility from e46 M3 to Z4 m Coupe

Greetings folks;
I just picked up this car 2 weeks ago. It was a show car, now I want to make it a "go" car. I had a 2004 e46 M3 track car; wrecked in race. Now building replacement with donor body 2002. My question is;

-is the header applications from e46 m3 to z4 m coupe the same?
-I follow M3 forum and plan on some SS V1 stepped headers to work with recent DKF acquistion; fabbing PRN. There is a set of ARH with section one on M3 forum as well.

Check out my album

I did a intro on the welcome page. More questions and advice welcome.

From memory, some forum member tried the ARH, it won't fit.

SS should fit..

Think Lev had the ARH 6 into 1 bit? Not sure if he had to mod it to fit, but pretty sure that fit. Think Alex had that too?

Yeah I haven't heard great things on either the E46M or Z4M side regarding ARH 6-1. Fitment was apparently difficult on the Z4M, and I don't believe anybody has fully fleshed out a proper tune for it (compared to say an SSV1 which is well supported with proven gains).

Here's a thread with more detail:
https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthr...1397666&page=2

Regarding fitment. I believe in >90% of cases the headers are compatible between the platforms, however I'm nearly positive that's not the case with the Section 1's and there needs to be a Z4M-specific fitment.

Yeah, I also wouldent be denting anything to make headers or pipes fit, s54 is extremely sensitive to back pressure.

It would take a lot of fab work to mate SS V1 stepped headers with a DKF s-pipe. It would be much better to either start with SS V2 stepped headers, or use SS V1 stepped headers with the SS V1 s-pipe.

EPIC Motorsports

Thanks fellas;

I'll throw another option out there; EPIC Motorsports headers with expectation to fab Y-pipe or the like??
