Removing the trunk lid

Hey Everyone,

i'm trying to remove the trunk lid to do some paint job, however I can't seem to figure out how to disconnect the electrical wires. I was looking around the area of that rubber tube that goes from the lid to the trunk, but did not find any connector to unplug there.

Could you please help me with how it is supposed to be done?

Thanks.

I couldn't find it either, I've had the lid off a few times, but I've had to rig up something to hold it in place away from the car, still attached.

The wires have to be disconnected and fed out through the hatch. A bit tricky, but doable.

Hmm. Thanks, now I removed the two plastic covers on the lid and I can see the connectors, however the wires are mounted to the lid at one point with some kind of clip. I was afraid that it breaks when I pull it with force. Any tips for that?

Depending on the clip, you should be able to pull it out. If it's the type I recall, it's flat and the wires are taped to it. A barbed post is inserted in a hole. Pull it carefully pulling up on both sides of the post. It may be easier to remove the cloth tape as well.
