Vented Hood

So currently exploring options for venting underhood air on my non M.
I do not like the tacked on look of the aftermarket vents.

Happened to watch an old Jay Leno Garage episode of the AM DB10.
This is their take on venting.
What are people’s thoughts on this far as asthetics and functionality.

Those vent holes are too small and too far back to be beneficial to your car. They should be placed immediately behind the radiator.

I thought about simply drilling holes in the hood. Maybe 1/2" to 1". Not the most elegant look, but should be beneficial. Definitely better looking than the heater grates, IMHO.

Look great - but limited airflow; How is rain water infiltration managed? Also those little holes would get plugged with dirt, rocks, whatever, and would be hard to clean out.

I don't think that will help much.

Most likely. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a plastic panel on the underside to prevent water intrusion.
