You're not hardcore, unless you live hardcore!
Spotted this hardcore individual on my way home from the Canadian International Auto Show today!

It was pretty messy out there today, so I could barely believe my eyes. I'm still a month away from hibernation coming to an end!

Thought that might have been me when I first glanced at the pic, set of winter tires on my coupe and I was out and about during our one day of snow here (Vancouver).

I was unexpectedly stuck out in the snow, and in fact the slipperiest conditions I've driven in in some time. My DD is laid up with brake issues and I had to pay my taxes, go to work, and get parts for said DD. At like 4:00pm today the snow really started to fall. I snapped this pic in a parking lot, and by the time I got home there was 3" on the ground, and since all the salt was washed off the roads there were some pretty hairy spots.
I've never driven this car in the snow before and it was an interesting experience to feel how squirmy she was in the twistys and this one off-camber swale near me. At one point I stopped in an empty and deserted parking lot to fling the car around a little and get a handle for how she reacts -- that was actually quite a lot of fun, there's a certain elegance to slipping the tail out without the drama and violence that dry conditions and grippy tires require. Not actually from the GTA but did head there on my longest road trip ever in the Coupe. Sorry I didn't take more pics of the car there. Love Toronto! |
