G29 poll
I have not been a fan of the way BMW is going with the large kidney grills. New M3 and M4 are tough on the eyes.
But who else besides me thinks the G29 is ugly? It's as if they took the large kidney theme and turned it 90 deg on the G29.

The large kidney thing is definitely a commitment from BMW. While I'm not a fan, sales seem to suggest most people are. The reality is if i had 70k to spend I wouldn't be buying a brand new Z4 anyway, I could get a collection of classics for that money. The average new BMW buyer wants one monthly lease payment, an eye-catching car, and a lot of tech. That is something that BMW does very well. I agree the new grills on the M3/4 are not the subtle BMW we grew up with either, but that's not what people want anymore. I think we are just becoming the old guys shaking fists at youngsters. I will say, the new M3/4 has some of the best factory colours I have ever seen.

I wasn't a fan of the large kidney grill too. But in person it got presence. I think it somehow worked with the M4 coupe form. It complements the athletic stance visually.
Could be worse... you could end up with a platypus faced Tesla Model 3. |
