I'm back home now! All PM's have been responded to.

I've noticed I've fucked up somewhat though. I've forgot about the PayPal fees and messed up the exchange rate. I will have to adjust the price to 325$ for a kit. HOWEVER(!) everyone who have ordered a kit or have shown interest before in one of the threads/in this thread/in PM will be able to purchase at the original price of 300$.

I'm sorry for this but at the original price the shipping and fees comes out of my own pocket, but I'm a man of my word and I stand for this and I don't seek for any sympathy nor more money from those of you have already commited or shown interest!

What are the best hose clamps to use with typical 3" silicon brake duct? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Also any suggestions on specialized nuts and bolts that should be purchased to install the kit would be helpful as well.

Cheers,
Eamonn

I use regular hose clamps, the funnels/ducts have a small chamfer to prevent the hose from slipping off. They funnels/ducts are quite sturdy where you put the hose clamps, but remember that they are made out of plastic and over tightening the hose clamps will break the plastic!

You will need some M8 16 mm (4 of each) and M6 16 mm (6 of each) bolts/nuts/shims for the front ducts, and 4 x 3" hose clamps. And for the backing plates you reuse the bolts that hold it in place and you need 8 x M4 12 mm bolts/nuts/shims (16 x shims preferably, but 8 works) for the funnels on the backing plates.

I'm new to this PayPal stuff, seems like someone paying in US Dollars not living in the US triggers 2 x exchange fees which is a pain in the ass. So in the future I believe it's best to make the transaction in SEK to only trigger 1 exchange fee. Since the SEK (Swedish Currency) is weak right now it's to your advantage and I don't have to pay for 2 x exchange fee's, win win.

I've been doing some calculations and I'd have to charge an additional fee of 80$ for the CFRP. That includes both the front bumper ducts and the backing plate funnels.

Why would you want only one side? With or without brackets/block off plate?

Wanted to let you know that we hit a little set back. My brother started printing a front bumper duct today, but the printer is malfunctioning. He's working his ass off to get it sorted, if he can't get it fixed in reasonable time he'll order a brand new printer (Zortrax M300). Very sorry for the inconvenience. So I won't be taking any orders right now and I will contact the 2 people that have already ordered and paid, I don't want to hold anyones money hostage if they wanna back out.

Thanks for the update. I'm still a wee bit on the fence but leaning heavily towards yes. Do you have a timeframe for when you'd like to wrap it all up? I would hate to have regrets.

The printer is now up and running and we hope it will continue that way, we haven't had any issues with the printer before so this came as a surprise. But as I said, if it gives us a hard time we will buy a new one.

2 have paid for a kit and 1 more have commited but I told him not to send any money until we're up to speed. Keep in mind that 1 front bumper cooling duct take 40 hours to print. A second printer is about to get set up to speed things up.

To be honest I didn't expect this kind of interest/demand. But as I said, we're trying to speed things up and a new printer isn't out of the question.

Second printer? Woohoo!
And anything custom for these cars is hard to come by.

Yeah, my brother has another "large" scale printer laying around. He just gotta get his thumb out of his ass and put it toghether.

I felt the same with my Z3 Coupe track car, that's how this all started. I sell brake cooling kits for Z3, E30 M3, E36 M3 and now Z4 M. Trying to get a hold of a E46 and E46 M3 to make those as well.

I have some ideas of making a 3D printed diffuser for the Z4 M that uses OEM screw locations, it would have to be made in several pieces though. Gonna make 3D printed fender flares for my Z3 Coupe also.

The printer will be running non stop for 2 weeks to meet the demand. Just so everyone can see where they are on the list of orders I'll add it here.

Thanks

Chase
Your concern is fully understandable. We use ASA as printing material and in some cases PETG, we never use PLA. I'm running my own kit on my BMW Z3 track car and have no issues. On the first kit I made for myself the bottom of the funnels for the backing plates were only 2 mm thick and the outmost edges would lift slightly from the heat. After I saw that I made them 5 mm thick instead, so that shouldn't be a problem anymore. I'm still running the 2 mm thick ones on my car so it's no problem either.

I have backing plates and funnels ready to ship instantly, it's the front bumper cooling ducts I don't want to print before payment is made.

I answered this here because Calichase's PM box is full and the answer can be usefull for all of you!

So we ordered a new printer yesterday, it will most likely arrive on wednesday. This way we will have 2 printers working day and night. Thank you for your patience.
