Just Installed H&R springs
Just installed my new springs and I am not really noticing a change in height, has it been the same for some of you?
So my question is..does it settle and change after a certain amount of time? |

Installed Eibach Pro-Kit on my 2007 Z4MC and could not be happier! The car only drops about less than 1/2" Rear and about 3/4" Front but the ride is so much better

They should settle with some miles on them. A lot of people are happy with them.

H&R springs are reported to lower the ride height ~1", Dinan ~1/2", Eibach as mentioned above. Unless you measured before, I found it difficult to notice any difference.

I have had them for about 6 months or more on my Z4M and it drops front and rear about 1 inch. Now it has settled a bit more and its about a 1.25 inch drop, front and rear now. I would like to drop the front one more inch but like how I can get around now with no issues VS my 3 inch drop on my M3.
Here is my H&R's on my Z4M....

Did you guys install these springs yourselves or had a mechanic do it? My brother is a mechanic for Audi and he says he might be able to install these springs depending on what is involved. He's installed Tein lowering springs on my Honda Civic before and all we did was put the car on jack stands.

Piece of cake! It took me. longer to jack the car up and removed the wheels than swap the springs. I did not even need to use the spring compressor.

Dang. For some reason my post got cut off. I think it has something to do with using the BimmerPost program for the iPhone. Whenever I have an apostrophe a "/" symbol always gets added. Looks like a "&" symbol causes the post to be cut at that point. Weird.
Anyway, as I was saying. I read in another thread that H&R springs are pretty stiff and will most likely require owners to repair the the suspension after around 20,000 miles. Does this occur with the Eibach springs or is it more reported with H&R because H&R has been used more often? If premature wear occurs with all lowering springs, I may just want to go with coilovers as some other users have stated they wish they had done from the get go. |
