thats me

you know whats funny? Right now I'm on 225mm USED winter tires, and when I roll on the throttle in 2nd gear, I can lay down the power without the TC light going on. 1st gear is bad bad bad for winter tires though. The 17" winter wheel setup has nice tall sidewalls.

When its wet outside, no, its sideways anytime I decide to punch the gas even at 2000rpm in 2nd gear.

To get that torque my best advice is to get 4.10 diff. It works pretty well with SC and gives you that quick jump from low revs to boost range.

maybe 3.91 is a better fit for me, but I want to move to a warmer climate (better traction) in the next few months before any more power mods

Our car with SC loves cold weather... My car has 3.91 diff, but i can do 190mph runs quite often and safe on autobahns. In your place i think that 4.10 suits better.

nope straight from the horse's mouth, ess in fact, the vt2-500 kit uses the e60 m5 injectors, im guessing thats why ess went custom with the vt2-550 injectors as it would max out the m5 injectors......

update:

Unfortunately I had technical difficulties in mounting my giant gopro mount for video proof, but with Blizzak winter tires, this car is very drivable in the snow. Backing up a driveway with 2" of sleet/ice/snow mixed is no issue. Car doesn't understeer immediately, but going through a corner quickly does step the back out. As long as TC is on, you can have a lot of error-corrected fun. I was a bit worried about hitting something with my boost pipework, but didn't run into any snow over 3" anyway. Sure, you have to be VEEEERY careful with your throttle inputs, but even playing rough is very fun because even though you're going a bit sideways the whole time you're on heavy throttle in 2nd gear, the TC control keeps you in your driving lane.

Hell, I even found a road that was just a single sheet of ice. Mid corner I tugged the handbrake, and slowly fed in a bit of throttle and counter steer and went around in a perfect drift for about 20 feet. (Friend behind me in a FWD accord on all season tires understeered into the curb and almost hit the pole!)

Might not be practical, but driving a 500hp convertible on snowy roads is very fun! And yes, I'm very upset I couldn't get my camera to work (dead battery)

500hp and snow sounds dangerous!! lol luckily the throttle is soooo sharp its very very easy to meter out... i love coming out of a hairpin on the lockstops riding a slide thats JUST on the edge of tyre adhesion!!

so hows the car running?? i think you have the most miles on these kits really as mines a garage queen and only see's summer use, then again summer here is still like winter, lol!!
how are you finding it as a day to day runner??

hows your blower sounding now??? mines developed some really cool noises that are gently in the background, some people instantly ask "is that supercharged" which makes me smile....

so whats next for you??

btw im hoping to get to my tuner at the end of the month for my spoiler fitment ect
in the end id really like to get my DKF system in while im up their..... also a service....mmmmm sounds expensive!!! Cant wait for dyno's with the dkf + tune revision!!!! i really gunning for the highest non meth number for a vt2 kit....

Car's running great. Right now I'm saving up for a oem brake overhaul, and then for a valve adjustement. Also, I'm gonna get my meth kit nozzle moved much closer to the intercooler sometime within the next 2 weeks. I'd like to get the maintenence done first before any more power mods. So nothing really exciting on the horizon

Blower sounds same as before. No changes. Runs perfectly fine every day. I just make sure the idle drops below 1000rpm before I get moving on a cold startup

I think the best solution is to have it on a flip style on-off switch and only use it when you're craving more power. Turn it off when tooling around town in traffic

Fixed the problem. Damn vaccum lines connectors. It had clamps in the fuel rail area but none in the bypass valve/gauge/meth controller T-connector. I put zip-ties and now shows 10PSI. ESS said that on top it can go up to 10.5psi with the VT2-550.
