I don't think you can go taller than mine and clearance is not even remotely an issue

Does this kit include a new selector rod? Is it of the "dual-shear" variety or is that just UUC marketing mumbo-jumbo? I know the E46 M3 kit does but all pictures I've seen of the Z4/M kit don't show it...

When does this GB close? I'm still mulling this over.

Lon, maybe I could try the feel of your kit if you have time?

Would it be possible to get chamfered bushings as per this thread? I guess we can chamfer them ourselves with a pocket knife haha.
Are you referring to this bushing sandwiched in between? I wonder what Performance Technic did with my install. In any case, mine has worked fine thus far. Will have it checked next time I happen to go to PT. And I'll also ask Ron @ AutoSolutions about this bushing as well for your kits.

Use the original. Ptech used the original bushing instead AS provided. I never had problem. I was there when your car was in for SSK rework. They checked my car and noticed it was the original bushing.

I remember your issue.

There is absolutely no drive shaft interference with this.
and yes OE knobs will fit.

Aside from the reworked carrier, what else is different from the UUC offering? Trying to figure out pro/con, if any, to this over the UUC, which is 325 when not on sale.

Biggest difference are the precision bushings.
Have you seen this review?

This shifter is more about precision than just shortening the throws.

LOL.. my bad

I don't recall the ratios but if memory serves... this SSK isn't as short as most SSKs on the market.
I didn't notice any additional slowness at all with mine.

(J/K) Now I'm going to have to add my name to the list!

Seriously, thanks for the info, sounds like a really good mod. Stock can be sloppy at times, and I don't mind a little more effort with the shifter if the trade off is precision.

There is very little added effort.
I went back to the taller OE knob at first with a little lead tape.
...I love my current set up with the tall shifter & AS SSK
The only thing I want to do is have a new shift boot made up to come up to the bottom ring.
