Got the "Service Engine soon" light.
Hello Team:
Leaving work tonight got the "Service Engine Soon" light. Got home, run my OBD2 scan and got two codes: Current fault (in red) P2700 - Powertrain Trans Fiction "A" Apply Time Range/Ref Pending fault (in yellow) P3027 - Powertrain After some research found the following but is not specific to the Z4, Any ideas? How do you check the transmission fluid?: "P2700 code definition The P2700 trouble code detects a problem with the transmission friction element application. What the P2700 code means The P2700 code is a generic OBD-II trouble code that notes a fault in the transmission friction element A application. The powertrain control module (PCM) keeps track of both the input RPM signal and the output RPM signal, and when it detects an abnormality between these two signals the P2700 code may be triggered. What causes the P2700 code? Potential causes of the P2700 code are: Insufficient transmission fluid levels (usually due to a leak) Defective transmission pump Damaged electrical components in the system, such as wires, connectors, and fuses Faulty speed sensors (input or output) Engine or transmission is overheating Malfunctioning PCM"
