Twisted-
Going back to an old question you asked, I think I would prefer keeping my sunglass holder.

I agree, Update?

The paint on my roof is completely f'd and I am looking at either a repaint, Carbon Fiber or glass(clear) and I would like to know what options are ACTUALLY going to be available.

I'm dealing with issues regarding clearances/tolerances with the material of choice. It has to be CNC machined to follow the curvature before it can be secondarily bonded to the substructure. Just using a thinner piece doesn't work as well.

Its difficult due to trying to keep below a price point.

Thanks guys. I just know in the past many decades that I've seen a lot of cheesy outcomes on aftermarket items. Steps that were taken just to save on final parts cost in lieu of finer quality, and it was obvious. Sometimes that is a necessary evil I realize to get something to market and move onto another product.

With this, since the model Z4 coupes are no longer made, I'd rather dial it in properly and make it an item the buyer would be proud to let go along with the car if he/she sold their ride later on.

I absolutely appreciate that and can't wait for the finished product whenever it's perfected!

Speaking for myself, if you need to up the price to make it perfect, I'm still in....

Agreed. I have been meaning to ask what price point you're shooting for. It would be good to give my wife a heads up as far out as possible since I definitely want this regardless. :-)

Tony- Just double the price when u tell your wife. Then when it's less, she'll be happy. Also, tell her you're doing this upgrade for her so she won't feel so claustrophobic in the car. You're always thinking of others!!

Its speculation for me at this stage. Material changes along with vendor status seems to be a variable and moves many points. I'll know more soon.

Haha! I'm changing her oil this week and "splurged" on a magnetic drain plug. I'm pretty sure she thinks ANYTHING car related that I choose to do is wasteful so I'm just gonna stick with honesty for now...or at least until I know a ballpark price.

Wow, I just went page by page through this thread.
Do I want a CF or moon roof?

Seriously interested.

put me on a list for a moon roof if you're still making.

Am I understanding the 'removable roof' term correctly?
Will we be able to drive around without a roof as in the pic (with some trim to hide the bare metal of course) & if it rains we can simply put the roof on?

Would the removable oem roof kit be a lot smaller/lighter for shipping?
ie We re-use our existing roof?

Would you be able to ship the removable oem roof kit or moonroof to South Africa?

If so, I'd love to be on that list :thump:

PS. I could probably get a local group buy together if that'll help with shipping.
