I wanted it so bad. Z4 M Roadster

Hi,

Being on this site many times but this is my first post.

I have had 2 MINIs and currently a 07 MINI Cooper S. I am getting bored of the front wheel setup and the 4 Cylinder engine. So I have decided to look for a rear wheel drive roadster.

I having been looking at a Z4 M since 2006/7 and I said i will wait for a good value second hand model to come on the market and get it.
Well that time came 3 weeks ago where I was offered a brand New Z4 M Roadster in silver for 20% less the retail price.

Then as I was organizing insurance I was shocked by the price to insure such a car and then I heard that the Z4 production had come to an end!

So I did not pursue the order and decided to wait for the next Z4 M.
Now I have mixed feelings as I think i missed out on one of the best roadsters to date but then again I am excited about the new V8 M Roadster.

That is my sad story, so do i wait or get it now?

I want to keep the car for 4 years.

There may not be another Z4M until 2010 so you may as well find one now and have some fun.

I think 2010 is optimistic, BMW has said it isn't going to happen at all.

And why were you shocked at insurance and then DIDN'T get one? Insurance is insanely cheap on Zeds.

nevermind, I just saw you are in S Africa. It is cheap here in the US! I insure my new Z for the same price as my 2002 Honda Civic

I was about to say the same, then noticed the OP is in S. Africa, so who knows how crazy expensive it is there.

Ja, I would've bought the Zed - the next ///M is some way down the line. I'm from Durbs but living in the UK now and over here BMW GB periodically release ex-Manager's car's for Dealer auction; I picked up one of these very recently with only 5000km on it, pristine condition, full house, 6 months old and paid just over 50% of the retail price!

Check for ex-BMW SA car's now that the model has been discontinued, you may pick up an absolute bargain like I did.
