My Lease is up in 5 months

what to do?!?!
This car is simply too much fun to give up. 35k will buy it out at the end of the lease. I can also look at other cars, or lease another bmw. Lease another Roadster? Get a coupe? a 135? a Porsche Cayman? A Caddy CTS-V?

Yesterday merging onto an onramp that is a 180 degree decreasing radius uphill, i'm in second, at the limits of adhesion, steering with throttle. get past the apex, apply full throttle and get a little sideways. Countersteer a wiggle, hit redline, and boom shift to third. Tires chirp and i'm on my way on the tip of a BMW ICBM... pure satisfaction.

Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am in the same boat. My lease ends in 10 months. I am thinking of getting an E92 M3 - but it looks soooo boring....

I am seriously thinking of keeping my Coupe.

I think you just answered your own question.

I'd look at leasing or purchasing a new or slightly used M roadster. You could possibly find a brand new one for a great price. If you decide to buy yours out, the advantage is you know the vehicle's complete history. The coupe is a blast, and every time I climb into it I know I made the right call. But roadster vs. coupe is a question that only you can answer - it's personal preference.

The 135i is a rocket, but if you like the M, I think you'd grow bored with the 1er. It just lacks the raw power and rough edges of the M car.

Cayman is an amazing car - I just don't like the fact that Porsche's option list is true a la carte, and it's easy to tack on an extra $15k.

CTS-V is sick, but it doesn't seem to fit with your other interest. If you were cross shopping an M5, 550i, and E class AMG, sure. But CTS-V and M roadster just don't match up.

If thats they way that you feel about her, then you should purchase her at the end of the lease and continue the driving pleasure. Just my .02

Keep it, or turn it in and buy a newer Z4 M Coupe or Roadie. This car is truly unique in this age of more automation and frills. It's the last of the pure BMWs in many respects. Cayman S would be nice, but not worth the price. As the Hampster says on Top Gear, there's only one reason to buy a Boxster/Cayman and that's because you can't affort a 911.

I'm planning to keep my car until I die. 20 years from now I'll be driving a true classic, and there will be so few around.

The company came out with Q3 figures yesterday, that pretty much sucked. They took another 300 million euro provision on the vehicles that come out of lease, mostly in the US. Don't you guys think that you should buy the cars after the lease ends?

A coupe would let you enjoy that rocket on the track without using up your E30....

I'm not sure about you, but I regret getting another roadster as my DD.
I thought I wasn't ready to give up the roadster fun fact but after 5 years of riding in roadsters, I'm sick and tired of it.

You're in LA, so I figured a coupe wouldn't appeal. Mine is currently my daily driver, and I used to have a roadster. If you think the roadster is cramped, the coupe's not for you - it's almost as roomy inside (my legs says there's a bit less leg-room, regardless of BMW's stats) but it feels much more close inside with the roof.

+1.
My wife has a Z4 2.5 which I drive about 3 times a year when we uncover it and take it out of the garage (2004 with 11,000 miles). My MC feels more closed in, no doubt, but I like it (I'm 6'4" 220). My daily driver is an 06 750Li, and I feel like a midget in that car, so the MC is an "exotic" and welcome change of pace.

Sorry,I also think the M3 is boring to look at compared to the Z4 Coupe.
I even have 2 friends who have a coupe and sedan.

My lease is up in under a year too and have the same choice to make.

I have a kid so my car is used just to go to work Mon-Fri.
On Friday night it gets parked till Monday morning.
I feel its a waste.

I'd have to to move up to a 911 to drive it on weekends.
But for same price I could probably buy the Coupe and buy a used first gen Mini Cooper S.

I had a Z3 M Roadster and I feel the Coupe is a better daily driver.
Quieter, less chance of creaks from the top.
I live in LA and still think I made the right choice.
The red interior makes it feel more spacious and I know the light sepang was even roomier feeling.

This weekend i took my first gander at the following cars:
08 Porsche Boxter S
08 Porsche Cayman S
08 Audi RS4.

i have to be honest, the porsches kind of bored me, there's so damned many of them around. the RS4 was an absolute stunner, silver on white leather with CF trim. Setting up test drives for all three cars next week.

residual on my M is 40k so i may just purchase it. I cleaned it last night and threw on some new Leather cleaner and it just looks so awesome...

About the only car that was interesting to me outside of the M3 and M5 on the dealer lot was a silver on red 135i. May have to take it for a spin as well....

I sold a 2005 S4 for the M Coupe.
Such different cars....I know the RS4 is even better.

I just felt the car wa heavy and you felt it on the track.
But I've had my Coupe on the track about 2-3 times.
So as a daily driver with great amount of power the RS4 would be great with 4 seats and a decent trunk.

If my S4 was nogaro blue inside and out I would have hung on to it.
It was silver and it just blended in too much with the rest of the A4's around here.

The RS4 is a sick car... the exhaust note is intoxicating. But it is a heavy car, and the handling will be an adjustment coming from the Z4 M.
Oh, and the best RS4 colors are Sprint Blue and Imola Yellow.

The 135i is fun; but again. It's a completely different car to drive. Not nearly as involving as the M. It's a complete rocket, but lacks that wonderful "this car should only be driven at full-throttle" feel of the M.
