08 Z4MR Tach Lights

Hi

Car is 2 weeks old to me and I am starting to notice some small things. Yesterday when I started the car all (4 orange 2 red) lights on the tach from 6k to 9k were light up. After the car went through it's start up routine and I was ready to back out of the garage all but 3 lights went out. 2 reds and 1 yellow stayed lite. Is this normal. I really had not paid attention to see if the other 3 yellows were there when I first got the car. I did not see anything in the manual that said those yellows would go out after the car started.

Best regards

I didn't know anyone bought this car w/o reading reviews.

I think the adaptive redline is one of the coolest features in our cars.

If I had spent a month reading reviews this car would have been gone. My instincts have served me pretty well, I think I got a good deal and a good car. My only nit picks on the car so far are that the 2nd key needs to be coded to the car and the dealership has yet to do it because of computer problems they have also the tech that swapped out my wind screen lost one of the straps. The lost strap really does not effect anything but looks like crap when the other side straps are in place.

Besides that the car is perfect and I love it!

But thank you for your concern. I will look forward to your posts of great knowledge and understanding.

Best regards

the variable tach is a neat feature exclusive to m cars in general, although i wouldn't recommend revving past 4k rpms until ur oil temps pass the 1/4 mark on the gauge. enjoy ur new car!

+1. BMW wouldn't, either as this is the recommended warmup interval.
