Soft Top indicator light starts blinking randomly

Hey,

Recently I noticed when I drive with the roof down every now and then the indicator light next to the top open/close buttons starts to blink like the open procedure was not completed. I need to stop, press the open button for a second, and it goes away. But it comes back randomly after a few minutes.

Any ideas why that could be and where I should look to try to fix that?

Regards,
Krisztian

I've had that as well....annoying as hell. Mine wasn't as bad as yours though.

You might want to check the micro switch on the trunk wall that is engaged by the trunk shelf. Make sure it isn't loose and/or the microswitch lever isn't loose.

I'd agree on the microswitch on the trunk wall. Careful when fooling with it, I understand there's a piece that can take flight!

I think the switch on the trunk wall is just to detect that the "tea tray" is down.
This sounds like the top is bouncing up off the "top retracted" switch, wherever that is.

I think the tops used to lock in the down position, but BMW deleted that feature, so the only thing that holds it down is gravity.
