Headliner Plastic Trim

I am having difficulty sourcing the headliner plastic trim or windshield frame cover (as BMW calls it, 54317056282) as it is out of production. Tried calling a few parting out places and I was advised they are difficult to find.

I wonder if anyone has been able to homemod any solutions?

These plastic piece tends to crack due to aging.

eBay is no go except the one from Lithuania. That seller just cancelled the order. But keep the suggestions coming.

I need to replace this also. It's in my ECS "wishlist", but they show it out of stock from their supplier as well. If you decide to order this from Bavauto please update us if it actually ships. Thanks!

Yea, this is bad news.
Mine is cracked near the access hatch and around the mounting screws.
Did a cheesy fix a few weeks back with glue on the access hatch and honkin' washers around the mounting screws.
Figured I'll replace it some day. Just didn't want that to be today!

Same here. The possibility of this being a discontinued part has me thinking I'd better do this soon

I have the headliner trim on "notify when in stock" at ECS. Let's hope this is going to continue to be manufactured. As many Z4 vert's as there are out on the road, I can't believe BMW would stop production of this part, especially when they are all prone to cracking over time.

Looks like I struck out on Amazon.
Got an email saying it shipped, and 3 hours later an email that says my money has been refunded.
Either I'm getting it free, or I'm not getting it.
The page now says "Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."
Cue sad trombone.

I got mine from ECS last year after my old one fell off while driving and scared the sh*t out me.
