Garage List
2004 BMW Z4 2.5  [0.00]
2004 BMW Z4  [0.00]
Just wanted to let you know I took it to a mechanic in East Rochester ny who said if he couldn't spin balance it he would do it for for free.
He did all of them and could not get it out.
That's why I leaned towards from end alignment.
David
thanks for your reply though and good luck with your car.

Nice! I just installed the 3.91 ring and pinion last month so can't wait for the snow to melt.

Bought myself a new *LOGGER* racepak street dash. Since I got my non logger version to work, as a success present, thought I'd buy this.
(I'll post up a write up sometime in the future, it's not easy with zero info out there.)

The car is driveable now but waiting for a day that is dry and mild enough to take it out.
That might be while, if only I was in Dubai.

I'm assuming this is connected to the radio. What sort of power are you getting from the USB?

I see you are from Toronto as well. Did you source the parts from Canada? what made you decide to go with 3.91 instead of 4.1?

I bought everything from Racingdiffs.com, they are in Latvia or Lithuania? Alekzander is a knowledgeable guy and threw in a couple of things because I ordered the whole kit from him.
The price was fantastic compared to Diffsonline and it took a week to reach me, the shipping costs were reasonable too.
I had a 3.91 in the last car I built and I missed that extra kick it had over 3.64.
I've driven cars with a 4.10 and they are great off the line, lots of fun to drive but I do a lot of highway driving so would have to deal with more sound from the higher rpms and more costly fill ups.
I figured the middle road was a good bet although you will hear lots guys here swear by the 4.10

We might have met at one of the two Z4 meet ups this summer.

If I plugged the info in right with the ratio comparison on bokchoys 3.91 vs 4.10 is about 8-10mph on the top and about 150rpm difference cruising at 70mph. Sucks diffsonline like any retailer prices have gone up. Same diff built now that I had them build for me in 2016 is over 1k more now. Will be sourcing one in the not so distant future for the coupe too.

Only a 150 rpms? I thought it would be much more.
This is more than I paid last summer but it is still very good.

This was what I used https://web.archive.org/web/20200729...calculator.htm
When going to the table on that link on the left to pull the gear info needed for the z4m and plugging into the calculator above has 6th at 70mph at 3,125rpm 3.91, 3,276rpm with 4.10 with 255/35/18 tires at a 3.62 has 70mph at 2,893rpm.

When I was calculating for my 03 went from 3.64 to 4.10 there’s about 400rpm difference in 5th.

Thanks, good site. Correcting for my wheel and tire size I come out at 2933 rpm in 6th gear. Damn! I should have gone for the 4.10 it is only 3076 rpm.

That is impressive considering all of the manufacturing and shipping problems. I don't know when I will get it installed but hopefully soon. And the carbon fiber looks good.
Did you ever get this on your car? More photos on the car please.

That I never tested but it's enough to charge small devices I am guessing. I just hooked up a 12v to 5v step down converter to a fuse tap for the USB cable. The Aux pin was plug n play.

I bought a new center dash air vent assembly! Previous owner destroyed the clips when doing a head unit install. I had to basically hulk-rip it out of the dash.
Managed to get a black one instead of the graphite colored stock piece so it will actually match the radio surround now!
