East Coast Z4 Track Days

I’ll be doing my first event since the pandemic in July. Noticed another Z4 signed signed up for Watkins in July (white M coupe), just curious if he/she is on here

Thinking of doing some of the SCCA Track Nights at Pocono and NJMP this summer. Price is right and I don't need much more then 3-4 sessions to get my rocks off.

Also thinking of another "Stacked on Track" event at Pocono if they run the mega course again....that was really fun last summer.

I may be taking this year off on HPDE. At $6.50/gal gas I burn through $46/20minute session in Pocono North or NJMP, tire prices way up and everything else. Perhaps one event but can't stomach the cost. I don't think I've run into either of you at all - how crazy...

You make good point on consumables. More the reason you should buy my new tires lol

I’ve actually not tracked in long time, pretty much stopped right when you were going full tilt. But hoping to change that going forward.

I haven’t been on track, 7 months before Covid hit when I took the coupe for its upgrades.. I bloody can’t wait to get back out there… by the time winter comes and it cools down here enough for my proper shake down, I’ll have missed close enough to 3 seasons… holy crap.. and that was after thinking it would be done in 6 months….

Yeah I’ve noticed things too getting expensive…

Are you referring to RTR even in mid-July at Watkins? I’ll be there for sure.

Honestly, the track events over the last 2 years or so have been absolutely fantastic. Mid-2020 up until around mid 2021, the track owners were actually reaching out to us to do private days and many of them let us utilize their “member” insurance riders…they weren’t using the days, so the insurance companies allowed some flexibility. There were plenty of days that only 10 of us were on the track…no corner workers, no tow, no ambulance…just 10 drivers. Ever been towed around VIR on a skateboard behind an M3? We did wear helmets!!

The racing side…Champ, AER, and BMW Club kept going as well, albeit with slightly smaller fields.

Agree the costs a have gone up a bit including the actual track rental rates, but both my wife and I run cars so this is where budget is already allocated.

Hope to see you guys soon.

Yeah it is def getting more expensive! Hell I remember back in college in Canada where we could get track time for $60 on a Wednesday night. I didnt know how good I had it!

The SCCA Track nights are for sure the more economical.

We should all meet up at one! Be cool to have some many Z4's at one event.

PorscheFest is the same as the end-of-July Watkins event, otherwise I’d probably make the trip. Club race in late September on Watkins I’ll be up for with the E36.

Let’s try to find another one to coordinate.

I'll be doing a few this year, either NJMP/Watkins/Summit or Limerock. I'll post when I plan to hit the track if anyone may be up to join from here

After 3.5+ years in hibernation, planning to start doing few events again. Feels like I’m starting over in some ways lol.

Nice! I'm planning for NJMP in late Aug (28/29). I'm up for other events too! So long as they allow convertibles...

Yeah, that's a bummer - would be nice to hang out with a group of BMW guys. I see you're in CT - I'm in northern NJ. I bought an interlagos blue z4m last summer and just got a bunch of mods on. Maybe our paths will cross!

Eisenmann Race
Rogue x-pipe (pending)
KW V3
Vorshlag camber plates
Apex VS-5RS wheels
Karbonius airbag
GruppeM CF intake

I would like to do Pocono, NYST, and possibly NJMP just not sure when yet.

Then of course Autox's at the Meadowlands and a handful of days at Englishtown.
