Who has already fitted status gruppe headers ???

Hi guys,

Just received my header from Status Gruppe, but it seems to don't fit correctly...nothing is plug and play, both for engine side and exhaust.

And i didn't know we have to weld the fixation on the header for the downside (to the catalyser)...

Check the pic attached....

What is wrong ? I thought this header was plug and play!!

When you try to push it flush with the block, what stops it from going?

I don't have these headers but is the little nub on the transmission causing you problems? You might have to file it down. I had to wiggle around and play with it a fair bit to get my fabspeed ones to settle. It's an awkward shape and area to work with.

thanks for your reply guys.

here you are some pics..

Nothing is going well, the header is not aligned with the rest of the exhaust, even if i cut the tab on the transmission..

it is really strange, as if the header was not designed for this car, but after some email with SG, they told me they have only one model, so no possibility they switch with another order...!

Check this out....

Moreoever, i didn't know we have to weld the fixation to the cats section...

Yes 2-3 pipe pieces. Maybe have front and rear mixed up.

You dont have to weld anything, did they not include the slip on flanges with the headers??

You slip 1 flange on each of the header ends and put a new seal and tighten it up. No welding required.

I'm pretty sure that you put them on wrong like dbarton said, switch them around and see if they fit.

Are you righthand or lefthand driver? These will not work with righthand drive as it interferes with the steering column.

From everything I've read online these are pretty straight forward to install so either your doing it wrong or something is wrong with the header.

I ordered a set and I'm still waiting on them so I don't speak from experience. However, I would worry about trying to line them up with section one, get them on the block and on the bolts first one piece at a time. I'm not sure which piece is easier to go on first but I'd assume you should start with the rear piece (short unit, I think you have them on right) then the front (longer). Once on the blots hand tighten the nuts and try to line up the header to section one. Looking at your hardware you're missing a seal that goes between the flange (those circle things). If you still can't line these up maybe they got bent in shipping. Best thing to do is to compare you unit to the photos on SGT website and see if there are any discrepancies.

You can reach out to No_Dominion as he installed his without a problem. He also followed this Step-By-Step Guide.

You can also check out the Euro header install for tips here.

Good Luck

I hope I don't have these issue when mine arrive.

I have Fabspeed and section 1 clamps are the same way.
They work fine once you have the gaskets in place and clamp them up.
It's actually a benefit as it makes fitment easier to set the length.

I know France is left hand drive , so that is not a problem.
It should be obvious which one goes to front (cyl 1-3) and which goes to back.

They are hard to fit if you try put them in one at a time.
What works best is to hold both parts at the same time in the correct orientation and then slide them in together.

Also....
The headers do not cross over as the OE headers do where they connect to section 1
so now left and right side are reversed.
If you are using secondary O2, they need to be switched over as well.

What is wrong ? I thought this header was plug and play!!
I got the heat protected status Gruppe headers and the race cat section after that and had no fitment issues. Hmmm, not sure what the problem would be but they were pretty good with customer service.

My SGT headers had no fitment issues. I was also confused about the flang thing. Called SGT and they said no need to weld.
