Turn signal bulb

I have a hard time finding anyone posting this so hopefully someone can offer some insight

One of my 4 turn signal bulbs burned out a few days ago, (causing hyperflash).

After some research, seems like the turn signal bulbs are the size 64136, all the bulbs I have found so far seems to be clear although I do not know if they glow amber. The ones in my headlights are likely original and look amber.

So the question is, was the original bulbs supersceded by clear ones that glow amber? I need to know if I need to buy one bulb or replace all 4

I could look into an LED, but I am not comfortable adding a flasher unit, unless someone has done this

Also, what's with the price of these, BMW Canada wanted 30 f**king bucks for ONE tiny bulb

it was supersceeded, the question is, did they change to a clear bulb that turns amber when lit or did it stays an amber bulb.

Dealer gave me a quote for 1 stinking bulb... 39 bucks

The bulb in question you will replace is clear for the front turn signals, theres an outer amber glass bulb type housing part of the inside the headlight that will ultimately shine out amber.

So that means I don't really need to get a OEM bulb then... Sylvania ones are listed for half the price, and won't need to replace all 4 then.

Awesome, thanks
