New wheels
Hi everyone,
I am picking up my Montego Blue Z4 3,0si with black top (it has the extended tan leather interior) next week and it has the silver Bolted Star Spoke Style 108 wheels. I was going to bring it to my a local wheel repair shop to have curb rash repaired on three of the wheels, but he offered me a trade where he would take some cash and my wheels and replace them with the same wheels, but with a gloss black face (see attached picture). Does anyone have these black wheels on their Z4 and I am wondering how they would look with Montego Blue before I go ahead with this purchase. Thanks |

Tire Rack has a pretty good tool for simulating what wheels look like on the car. Find a set that are close in color and see what you think.
Those appear to be custom refinished stock wheels. |

I think dark wheels on a blue vehicle looks amazing.
I may be biased.

Those would look great on my red '08 si and I imagine on Montego Blue too. I like the 2-tone effect. There are other examples of 2-tone refurbs on eBay:

IMO black wheels almost never look good on a car. The design gets lost in the shadows. They can look great in perfect lighting, but usually your car is not in perfect lighting

I have a Montego blue Z4 3.0si and my 108s had a small dent in the rim giving the car a bumpy feeling at low speeds. For a change, I got some VMR 718 rims in hyper silver. They are a CSL style rim. Pics here if you would like to see how they look:
