:: ECS Tuning :: Introducing Z4M ECS 2-Piece Brake Rotors|A Revolution in Braking

Lightweight aluminum hats pared with cross-drilled and slotted cast-iron friction provide the best of both worlds in braking performance. Aluminum reduces inertial mass, improving steering feel, acceleration, and deceleration. Cast iron has immense thermal capacities and great wear characteristics. 2-Piece semi-floating construction ensures the two materials work together in concert.

Do you know what the weight savings over stock are?

"Overall weight savings: This particular ECS 2-Piece rotor weighs only 18 lbs compared to a stock E46 M3 ZCP/CSL rotor at 19.1 lbs."

Are matching rears available?
Or is ES#2190238 it.

ZStig - StickMon quoted the site, his numbers are accurate. 18 lbs vs 19.1 lbs

StickMon - My 135 and E46 M3 guys are running our ECS Slotted and drilled rotors in the rear with the ECS Two Piece Rotors up front and loving the combo. At the current time we do not have rear two piece rotors on the books for production, but if the market pushes for them it is something I'm willing to have my guys look into manufacturing for us.

At the current time we do not have plans for slotted or drilled only versions of these rotors.

At the current time we only manufacture Front 2 Piece rotors for the Z4M. For the rear many of my guys choose to run our Rear ECS Slotted and drilled (non 2 piece) rotors (LINK).

  • Weight Savings: Each 325x28mm 2-Piece rotor saves 3.2 pounds over stock E46 M3 rotors; the 345x28mm 2-piece rotor saves 1.1 lbs over ZCP/CSL rotors.
  • Durable and Dependable: Diligent engineering, proper machining processes, and careful material selection results in a rotor set that will stand up to heavy use, road and track, without worrying about warping or cracking.
  • Low Moment of Inertia: The aforementioned weight savings yields a lower moment of inertia for increased handling prowess, quicker acceleration and deceleration, and improved road feel.
  • Increased Thermal Capacity: Bolting cast iron rotor rings to aluminum rotor hats in a semi-floating configuration allows for independent thermal expansion and contraction. This keeps heat away from wheel bearings and improves heat dissipation in the rotors.
  • Direct Bolt-on Fitment: Diameter, thickness, bolt pattern, hat depth, and set screw chamfer and placement are identical to stock, making the upgrade a simple bolt-on affair.

So hard to understand why you are not selling replacement friction surfaces for these. Would make it a much easier sell.

We offer a full replacement at a discounted rate instead of a basic re ring. So far everyone running the rotors that's needed replacements likes the simplicity of just replacing the full rotor instead of dealing with re ringing the rotor.
