Gaining access to the back of the MKIV computer's connector was the most difficult, otherwise - it's all downhill from there.

I live in DC where it would be nice to see out the rear from the display more than when just reversing. How hard is it to make the camera switch happen manually as well?

Very cool module. Any videos or screens of putting over devices through the display e.g. dvd etc.? Not that I am big on DVDs in a car... but it would be interesting.

BTW is it just me, or can you still see the camera shot behind the regular display mode? Anyway to avoid that? Sorry for all the Q's

It wouldn't be hard, the signal input just needs to see a camera signal in order to activate. In the video - we used the reverse lamp's signal so the camera would only activate in reverse.

DVD will be crystal clear on the screen as long as your files are higher than 640x480 resolution.

Thanks for the info.

Do you have greater details on the switching methods from camera input to other component? It looks like just a 'black box' but I didn't know if there was a wiring diagram that you could share etc.

Just trying to understand how I might be able to utilize the box.

Thanks!

It's simple enough to put into words:

1. 1st input is auto-sensing. As soon as a signal is detected (RCA) the device will switch to that input. When the signal disappears, your screen reverts to normal.

2. 2nd input is activated by a "trigger wire" (+12V) from the device, when the power disappears, your screen reverts to normal.

Hope this helps.
