Not my own, but some pics from my last visit at the BMW Museum in Munich.

I stripped the car totally — this is the picture after we loaded it to take to the body shop for rust work and paint. I’d like to get it back in the spring. Not sure yet whether to keep the M10 with just a cam and dual webbers, turbocharge it with fuel injection and a standalone ECU, or swap in another motor like a BMW M42/44 or Honda K24. The M20 is also popular but an inline 6 is a long motor and that is a small engine bay. I am must familiar with the M50/52/S50/52 and there are aluminum block versions of the M52, but that is another long motor.

Gave the old girl a little facelift with a reupholstered wheel in Napa leather. The new M stitching really pops compared to the 24 year old original wheel. Amazing what a new steering wheel does, makes the car feel new.

Agreed, only wished BMW Classic would support their other classic the E30 the same way.

I wish BMW did what Porsche does, in offering parts and upgrades for older models. Even Honda does this with the s2000, albeit that was a later MY production run. |

I liked that house and barn but never really fixed up the barn the way I would have liked. That was 3 houses ago …. Pictures of #2 and #3 garages after being fixed up are below. I filled in the basement and poured a slab for #2 so I could have a 2 post lift, but the current garage is an 1880 carriage house, 24x30 with wood floor and pool equipment in the basement so I have a 4 post now.

Just sold this bad boy, I didn’t own it for very long (made me nervous every time I drove it)
850 CSI with 72k miles. Driver condition but could be made into a collection grade car with realistic investment. |
