Both. Finally dug it out of the snow yesterday as I needed to go downtown last night. Washed it today so looks much better now! I am washing it weekly to try to keep the salt off as much as possible. Saw a Carrera 4s out driving today too. I am very impressed with the Z4 in the snow so far.

I'm just trying to keep the salt off my car as much as possible. Doesn't all those car washes get expensive though?
I have a coworker who drives a Midnight Blue C4S to work everyday. Nice to know the Z4 can handle snow duty, though. |

I am a GTA Z4 for a portion of the year when I am in school even though I run around with new jersey plates.... gotta love that dual citizenship! I don't know how you guys drive your cars in the winter though.... I never want of will see my car covered in that nasty corrosive salt. so she is tucked away in the garage till the rain washes the salt away!

if u wash your car properly and regularly, you don't have to worry about the salt. most of the cars that i've own have been for +10 years each and no rust problems at all.
reality is that u CAN'T drive the car if there is anything more than a trace of snow on the roads, you'd just be plowing the road. i live in the city, if more than an inch of snow falls, i'm in a taxi. |

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie to this forum and I drive my z4 to work everyday. Gotta love the z even on snow (running Goodyear Eagle AS on stock 18s), I can't live without the DSP. |

I believe the M is lower to the ground than the si (not sure how much) which would make for more issues with ground clearance in general. Although of course the si still has limited clearance compared to other vehicles on the road.
I am using touchless car wash over the winter for quick and easy way to keep the salt off.

Ms are 1/2" lower, IIRC.
Weird that nobody from Vancouver has chimed in. They've got a healthy set of M owners there. And nate96... don't feel too lonely. If it makes you feel better, I'm originally from Alberta too, although specifically your rival city. The only thing I'll say is... Alberta #1!!! Go Petroleum Power! |

I didn't know the M model are even lower. I still recall hitting the ground when getting out of a gas station back in 2003, that the morning after I pick up my z4.
At some point , I was considering an used E63 M6 (given their current prices )or the new E92 M3 as they got the numbing fast GT quality. But again, I like the space for 2, the idea is elegant. Do you guys think they will make a coupe with glass roof? |

I have used a couple different ones so far. I like the new Esso one on Lakeshore East, which you see just after exiting off the end of the Gardiner Expressway.
Have NEVER had any issues with leaks to date. And, I drive a soft top!!!

lol. i made the mistake last summer of taking my '69 MGB to the touchless ESSO on Davenport. i wasn't thinking and didn't think the spray was that powerful. i got SOAKED inside. water was getting in at the bottom of the top. DIY spray booths going forward for both cars, although when i'm pressed for time, for th Z4MC, i like the soft cloth guys up by Davenport and Church.

All that high pressure water pummeling against your roof. I do believe the manual says that they don't recommend those washes as it pushes water into the material of the roof. Maybe it causes molding? But nice to know you're not have any problems! |

Leaside here.
It's my daily driver and I've found it decent in the snow so far (with snow tires), even through the storms this year.
