The Best MP3 Player? What do you all use?
Most of you know that my car was broken into and my iPod 5G was stolen.
I am not sure I want to go back with an Apple product. I really hate iTunes.... Besides a Zune, what other MP3 players do you all use? Pros, Cons? |

this is interesting to me cos i've been wondering how to have better music reproduction, quality-wise, through the aux input. i'm presuming u were simply using a 3.5mm aux cable and not a dice ipod system? from what i understand, two different quality of sound outputs there.
i use my palm pre as my music player in-car and it works well other than noticeably being lower quality as compared with cd, which i feel is by far the best reproduction of sound in our cars. sorry, must be rambling rubbish not related to the thread! what exactly are u looking for in 'best'? |

I have a ProClip mount that the iPod fits into. It has a integrated cable (not supplied) that supplies audio (aux input), video and power. Before anyone asks, I don't use the video output, but you could hook it up to your BMW NAV with an adapter box that all BMW NAV's need. Just slide it into the cradle and go... Wires are hidden and it's no mess..
Here is a picture of the same mount in my wife's Roadster. Same mount as in my car. In fact that iPod is mine. |

Sorry I use a Zune so I can't help on that front. If SQ is important to you, then get a player with a line out (not headphone jack), with a defeatable equalizer, and preferably one that can play FLAC or APE files on top of MP3's. (lossless audio format). I also personally think that one with physical buttons is easier to operate while driving opposed to a touch screen, but of course that's just preference.
