WTB: Z4M Front Strut Tower Brace

Looking for a front strut brace for my Z4M. Would prefer strong strut but open to others. Price depends on make and condition. Let me know what you have!

Just get a E46M brace from eBay. It fits just fine.

What's the best+affordable brace these days? Ebay shit is very dubious (unless it's a reputable company).

I meant OE BMW E46M brace from eBay. That's what mine is - genuine stuff.
You can pick one up from E46M3 for like $250 shipped.

Can others attest to the fitment? I’ve heard conflicting accounts there.

Pictures are not enough proof for you? Looks like you have a 06 ZCP, just take it off your car and put it on Z4M if you want to test the fitment - it takes like 10 min max.

Thanks. I know how to swap a strut brace, but no longer have my E46. Just looking for others perspectives since I’ve heard others have had trouble fitting the E46 brace.

You will need to remove locator pin from the z4 strut towers to clear the bracket:

But that's the only "mod" you need to do. Make sure you get correct centering nuts for the brace, regular shock nuts won't work:

You need 6, but if you shop on ebay, sometimes braces already come with these, so saves you $65.

How much space do you have between the bar and the airbox? I have the Z4 specific bar, and I have about an inch. I actually want to change as I like the E46 better, but I don't want to have an interference issue with my CSL airbox. By the look of it, it seems the Z4 design is thicker, placing the bar a bit higher above the airbox.

The gap is the same. The bars are identical, the brackets are slightly different to accommodate locating pins and firewall brace mounting points on Z4M. I had both braces next to each other, and the bars are exactly the same. Z4m is silver, E46 is anodized black.

I am not talking the bar, but the mounting braces, Z4m are much thicker, M3 look like paper in comparison (i am exaggerating)

Well, regardless, the gap is about 1 inch, so same.
