Business CD On/Off knob

Seems weird to me but maybe not:

The volume/power knob on my Business CD radio does not turn the unit off. It works for volume. Thankfully whatever failed/broke inside did so with the unit on so the system works, just unable to turn it off.

Anybody know how to fix?

Please advise and thanks.

The knobs have been known to bugger up never have with mine though but just incase you’re pushing in for on/off right, it’s not turn for on/off.

Yeah. Push it. It clicks like it should and doesn’t feel broken or mushy.

Generally, issues involving the volume knob concern the volume control itself, not on/off.

This issue sometimes can be fixed for a while by pulling the black knob and spraying electrical contact cleaner at the base of the metal post. Again, this is issues with adjusting the volume.

However, if you attempt anything with your issue you just might cause the on/off to jam into the off position.

I always hope for the best being a doh moment done it a few times with being use to the jeep but yeah in this case as above depending on how ocd you are might be best to leave that till least after you’ve got the bluebus sorted so it doesn’t lock up in the off position and open up that can o worms when you’re ready to incase it’s not quick and simple.

Does it bother me that it doesn't work? Yes.

Do I REALLY want to fix it? Yes.

Am I going to live with it instead? Yes.

I can turn the knob down to zero volume and get the same effect.

Thank you both!
