Fair Market Price
Looking at a 2006 Z4 3.0si from a neighbor, wondering how the fair market price goes right now.
2006 z4 3.0 si convertible 6 speed manual 86k miles 4 owners M suspension + M seat + Premium Package Clean Carfax showing no accidents Tire, brake, rotors have plenty left Interior 8-8.5/10 (Aging on the leather) Exterior 8-8.5/10 (Front bumper seems have been replaced or repainted. No color mismatching, the surface however is not that even between the bumper and the side panel) Thanks in advance |

Pictures help but from the information you posted it's an easy 10k. A 6 speed manual is a coveted Z4...atleast to me. How much is he or she asking for?

I could see this car listing for 10-12k but who knows what the sale price will be. I traded in a similar car because one of the big chains beat out any private offer received after having it listed for 6 months.
A car with those specs is not easy to find, look at the market and come up with a number you are comfortable with. My opinion, for what it’s worth - 9500 or less would be a steal if it’s well sorted, 9500-10500 would be fair, and getting to the 11k+ mark would have me looking for lower mileage cars. |

In my area, Z4 sale prices vary wildly based on season. The Z4 crowd is usually a bit older as well, and not the typical BMW nuts I usually encounter with e46s and e36s who buy and trade all the time. For most people the Z4 is not a year around daily, so while the car may be worth X amount of dollars, not nearly as many potential buyers. it will likely sit around for a while and some owners will sell for less to just get rid of it. I would ask what he feels is fair and negotiate from there. Just don't get too excited about it, i've made that mistake many times lol

I paid 13k for my Z4 Coupe 3.0si with loaded options and the same miles. Mine is the auto though. Being the roadster but with the 6spd I would say around 9 or 10k. I wouldn't go any higher unless it's the coupe. Oh how I wish I had the 6spd!

Bought and sold a lot of cars/motorcycles and there's one thing that makes a good deal and that is : " YOU are happy when you get the keys!"
Good luck in your purchase process !! |

I think people forget this a lot. They get so focused on the "best deal" you're not living in the moment and enjoying the whole experience. That's why I don't haggle if the price is fair and the experience is positive. At the end of the day it's not a house, it's a fun purchase. Enjoy it all!

3.0si with manual gearbox, sport suspension, sport seats is a rare find. I would not tell the seller that but the fact is that you will not run across them very often. Decide how much that combination of options means to you and factor that into your decision. The 3.0si has 260 HP vs. the 3.0i 215; that by itself is substantial. Add the third pedal, and, well...

It's a catch-22 when it comes to manual Z4s. To the enthusiasts, it is worth it. However a great majority prefer auto Z4. Its demographics are not the weekend autocross club sport folks.
Where I am I've seen manuals z4 unsold for a year and then the following year, poof gone. Whereas auto Z4 has a consistent sale trend. Personally, if you want a Z4 manual, just go for it. The manual shifter is not too bad. Clutch take up is a bit stiff with short take-up, but that's BMW. It's a matter of getting used to it. |

The guy loved the car but his son lived in Colorado, so him and his wife packed up the Z4 and headed to Colorado. Within a mile from their home she said she hated the ride hence why he was selling it. The car had everything including maintenance records and the highly desirable M Sport seats! Alpine White over black, Sport Package, Premium Package with DSP. All of the good bits. I was ready to pull the trigger and purchase a one-way ticket from Orlando that would set the stage for an epic road trip back to Florida with the top down most of the way. Then I made one more look on autotrader and then one popped up five miles from my house. It was black which I hate but had Dream Red sport seats and everything else. Needless to say I got the black one. This is a long story to say that I looked for a year and finally found one. If it is the car then make it work but if you feel you would pay too much then keep looking because once you over pay for something you never lose that feeling. Patience is key and good luck. |

Of the 2,104 3.0si Coupes produced for the North American market, 1,276 were automatics and 828 were manual transmission Interesting stat. Source: https://wiki2.org/en/BMW_Z4_(E85)
