Any Review of Brey Krause Seat Mounts?

Anyone here have direct experience with BK seat mounts in the Z4? I used Macht Schnell before and while not perfect, I was able to get everything to work with my old Recaros. I just had to enlarge some of the holes but nothing too bad.

I’ve read reviews from e46 m3 users but we all know how anything that should be compatible in “theory” is never 100% and for something like this, any little variance can make all the difference between a perfect install and a nightmare job lol.

I will make an effort to write a review of some sort once I install mine.

Just finished getting my Brey Krause seat mounts w harness clips and original sliders installed and supporting a Sparco QRT Performance seat. I wired in a $10 aftermarket E30 switch and have power slider working. No Airbag lights, didn't blow off any fingers.

Here is my review:

@!#%# $@$#@# @$#@!~! @##%~!~~~~!!!!

WTF?!!

Here is the door clearance, it's about 1mm, though I had to use a spacer to bump it over.

Here is how the mounting looks, showing the aftermarket E30 switch.

This is how it looks in the car. Good match for the stock seat imo.

Initial impressions of the seat are very favourable. Very comfortable, nice solid feeling.

The exterior bum of the seat is wide and restricts adjustment positioning. I need to mess with it, but in this configuration - with the stock sliders - I can't drop the back of the seat down beyond the first mounting position (highest). It bumps into the stock rail mount. From my initial driving impressions, I think I might want to drop the rear down 1 or 2 holes, so I will need to experiment with that.

The stock seat belt receptacle location is not a problem, you can see that the seat does not interfere with it in a way that would change the seat belt position.

I knew I would end up doing this at least twice to get the seating position right, as well as install the harness. I will make a better write up second time around.

Cheers,
Eamonn

Good looking setup and Suits the roadster really well! Any play side to side? I had that with my VAC sliders and could not get rid of it, so just bolted to the floor.

Haven't noticed any side to side play at all - seems rock solid. It's using the stock sliders, and sits on top of those, so has all the same rigidity they do. I also think that helps keep the costs down considerably for these Brek Krause mounts.

I will say that part way through the installation, I was wishing for the simplicity of just mounting it to the floor hehe.

Only street driven thus far, will have it on a track in a couple weeks, will report back afterwards.

Cheers,
Eamonn

What seats did you go with? Got pics or link to your install?
