I have the Walther PPQ M2 5" version that is essentially the same gun as the Q5 Match. I really like it, especially the fantastic trigger. I've participated in one match with it and felt that the recoil was a bit snappy but that could be due to my own inexperience. I've heard great things about the M&P 2.0 as well, and there are a lot more options for holsters/mags/etc for those than the Walther

Probably can’t go too far wrong between the Glock, Walther, CZ and S & W.

Thanks for the advice and I will let you all know what I end up with.

i’ve said this a half a dozen times on here but, i have lots of guns from glocks to very nice 1911s. I was a glock fan for many years, until i started shooting anything else. I still say they are great tools, and if a tool is what you need you can’t do much better then a glock, anyone can work on them and there are parts everywhere.

For ‘pleasure’ shooting get something with a metal frame and a good trigger, and a grip shaped for humans. The CZ is a great choice for the money. I think it’s better then the sig 226 navy.

What's the semi-auto rifle of choice for you as fellow BMW owners? I'll be getting back to acquiring new firearms and accessories this year, and just curious what others here are into in terms of semi-auto rifles. I've been a long time fan of both the AK and AR, and own several varieties from both platforms.

I really want to get another SBR, but the NFA wait times are ludicrous. Looking for a good suppressor host and don't want to use the SBR that I have already (5.56 with 11.5" barrel). I want something really short if there's going to be a can hanging off the end!

I'd say go with a 300 AAC Blackout AR build. Heavy bullet is easy to suppress and designed to burn all powder using a 7.5" barrel. Uses almost all the same parts as a 5.56 AR except barrel and muzzle device, so you could build a second upper to use on your existing SBR lower. Or build a second one as a pistol just get a nice pistol brace since the ATF has altered their stance on shouldering braces.

For SBR function without the paperwork how about a Tavor. Very cool gun, mine has been totally reliable, the stock trigger sucks, but Timney and Geissele both have replacements.

Beyond that (I'm in CA, so I can't get my hands on a bunch of stuff), I like the AR, the FN SCAR

I'm also excited about the new Ruger PC 9, its like a 10/22 take down, but it shoots a 9mm AND takes Glock mags, and its "featureless"!

you mean the shoulder thingy that goes up? I think they should be banned, if we ban them, as soon as the bullets go out of them you can't use them anymore and they will all go away

Got rid of the old A2 gas block, and added a free float with low profile gas block. It definitely feels lighter.

Ready for inaugural shakedown session.

Ascend Armory 7075 billet matched receiver, 18" JP .223 Wylde barrel kit with blended-in titanium comp, JP low-mass polished SS bolt carrier and captured buffer spring, Elf trigger. While not a lightweight build, I did use titanium pretty much wherever possible. Weighs 7 Lb 3 oz (3.26 kg). Waiting on a Nightforce NX8 optic so I threw some MBUS sights on it to shakedown and break it in.

Sorry for the crappy pic. I can't exactly bring this thing outside for pictures in NJ.

Owned a similar flashhider once, but sold it. But looks cool onto the entire barrel at the end...I assume this isnt mounted but fixed? The trigger looks like to get some time to get used to... I only use a fingertip at triggering and appreciate the small rondel shape of mine, never used a straight one before. Share your experience please.

New Jersey outlaws any flash suppression; and requires compensators, brakes, and even thread protectors be pinned and welded. JP provides this service so the barrel kit shipped NJ compliant.

Buddy gave me a barrel for my G29 chambered in 9x25 Dillon. Lone wolf, two ports. I have a heavier recoil spring and ammo on the way, the Underwood 90 grain loads are getting north of 1700fps in chrono tests

How's the 10mm feel in that small a frame?

It can be rough with full power loads. It's not as bad as I was expecting, IMO better than my old G27. But a lot of that is that you have more to hold on to. It is a decently big gun.

Fair - picture makes it look like a very small gun, but I have no reference point. I don't typically see a lot of the "carry" guns up here in Canada...mainly because little use for them if you can't carry. So we're more full size...though there is compact versions available and can order usually.
