you should notice some improvement during "spirited driving" i would think. But an auto-x will be the ultimate test

because they wanted the coupe to be more awesome :P haha i really dont know though it seems that since the coupe is twice as rigid they would have given the roadster the bigger sway bar. I know on most bmw's the verts get the bigger bars.

It will be garaged until the day before. So I won't be able to tell regardless.

Erik has had experience with racing Z4Ms, so I respect his opinion.

He told me to run the rear bar, and if I can't rotate the car, then remove the rear bar completely.

Ask Eric if he is confident enough that he would bet his car on this statement.

Go ahead and voice your opinion:

They are local, and he actually knows what he's talking about. Like I said, he raced a Z4M and had a rear bar, and removed it.

I had a lengthy discussion about this and he told me "You will not see any improvement with a rear-bar. I'll sell you one but you won't be happy with it."

I'm pretty sure if someone was trying to lie, they would argue the other way (Like all of the other companies it seems like these days).

I'll run the car and let you know. I'm going off of what he explained to me, he knows his stuff. There is one thing about reading it on the internet. There is another thing of personally talking to someone who has actually done this.

Have you added a front bar?

I am confident enough that I bet my car on it. I don't think the person lied, but I do think it was misunderstood or they don't know what they are talking about. I don't want to argue, just wanted to be of guidance. I get my knowledge from years of racing, countless suspension design books, and suspension experience.

It is easy to test. Remove rear sway bar-under steer. Remove front sway bar- over steer. It will be noticed at high speeds in a corner. The same results will also happen with increasing spring rates(increased spring rate is like increasing anti-roll bar size). The only difference is the anti-roll bar transfers energy from 1 side of the car to the other, which decreases roll.

They are a suspension company. I'm fairly certain they didn't mis-understood.

Like I said before, he has personally raced a Z4M, they know the car inside and out (which is why he was able to confirm with me instantly that a E46 M3 bar works, as that is what they used on THEIR car).

Anyways. I'm not going to argue, because you don't have experience than simple internet knowledge. TC Kline is a HUGE suspension company that knows their stuff. That this arguement to them and see what they said, I'm done with it here.

Just FYI, I only understeered once last year, and it was on a dusty pavement, greasy tires and me trying to shave time.

Everytime I spun out, it was contributed to oversteer. Increase the front sway will eliminate it and make the car planted.

...just happened on this pic & thought about this discussion.

This is what preload looks like.
With one side connected the opposite side does not line up.
It has to be forced into position.
With adj end links this can be adjusted out.
