Rooftop motor replacement question

Hi All,

long time lurker on here, thank you all for all the exceptionally useful posts over time, you've saved me a considerable amount of money on my E85!

I replaced the motor on the convertible roof, the motor only, not the entire hydraulic pump, and unfortunately, it is still not working. You can hear the motor turning but it is not raising or lowering the roof.

There is a small wheel on the inside of the motor that mounts between it and the hydraulic pump that sounds like it could just be spinning, as there is no pressure being built up. I've spoken to my local BMW specialist and apparently, you cannot buy this part separately.

Any recommendations on how to rectify this would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to have to buy a whole new motor and hydraulic pump if I don't have too.

Thanks
