Good luck guys on this, I have the strong strut myself and the quality is unbelivable but I don't recomend using the acorn nuts that it comes with it. I had some problems with them and I know other people that did two. So get a set of OEM's to use instead and please don't make a costly mistake trying to reuse the ones that was in your car because they are one time use type nuts.

What problem did you have with the acorn style nuts that came with the kit? I installed mine with them and they seem to install okay but maybe I should swap them out.

You don't happen to know the part number do you? (Sorry, I know you're helping us out here and then we pepper you with tons of questions....)

Yes I have the complete kit, the acorn nuts don't provide the correct depth so they will not provide the full tighteness that our suspension require, In other words they will bottom out too soon but It's almost not notecible. Also I had this problem twice, the parts will move getting out of position as the time passes.

I will try to get the part numbers for the hardware needed.

The braces itself are much better then Dinan or oem in my opinion tho (I used both before OEM and Dinan)

As of right now we don't have finalized pricing just yet. The OP is working on it. The more interest we have for it though, the lower our pricing is going to be

...change my interest to 'complete set' plse.
you get the entire set with the plastic tower caps as you pictured it. Somewhere along the line BMW changed the hardware for the FW braces from a vertical threaded post that accepts a nut, to a threaded chassis that accepts a hex head bolt threaded down into it. In the case of the latter, the 10 mm acorn nuts for the FW braces don't fit so we don't send them.

depends upon the total number of orders. The more orders, the lower the price. However, we have not raised our prices in 5 years although our material and manufacturing costs have increased substantially. We will do the very best that we can for all of you with regard to price.

please tell us what the issues are with the acorn nuts because we have not had this reported previously. There is an issue with the OEM nuts and that is the fact the come in two shoulder diameters, large and small. The large ones do not fit in the counterbore of the Strong-Strut shock tower ring but the small ones fit perfectly. We have no idea when BMW made the change so so send everyone the small kit with the acorn nuts.

Paul at Strong-Strut
Hey Paul they are not deep enough (acorn nuts), and it can also cause damage to the suspension hardware do to the fact that they can over torque the studs when bottom out (even using recommended spec. of torque) some studs ended up striped as well.

I never believed I had a need to report this since I'm very satisfied with the STRONG-Strut Product and that until not long ago I believed that was only me having problems. As of my recommendation for OEM I based myself on the experience that I had using different (claimed better, or as good) Nuts, and the Great quality of the ones from BMW that did not ever gave me any problems.

Also none of the suspensions that we used was OEM so I can't say nothing about the use of the Acorn nuts on OEM suspensions.

Response from the vendor:

"Now it is making sense, he had an aftermarket suspension and apparently the threaded studs were taller than stock. This WOULD cause the acorn nut to bottom out and not be snugged down. Had he contacted us at the time we would have sent him some extra, matching, stainless steel washers."
