GB Feeler: VARIS JPN Functional Aerodyanmics Program

Greetings all,

We're trying to test the waters to see if anybody would be down for a GB on VARIS parts. If you're not familiar with VARIS, they make top quality race parts for select BMW models - all of which utilize top notch REAL dry autoclave woven carbon fiber and carbon kevlar and VARIS is a major supplier to Japanese race teams.

use www.xe.com for currency conversion. Prices do not include inbound shipping cost from JPN but shipping cost will be reasonable with a GB. These parts aren't cheap but depending on the GB itself there will be significant discounts to be had.







Thoughts? Let us know. The hottest item VARIS offers that's unique would probably be their functional aerodynamic rear diffuser system 1/2, that and the GT WING EURO EDITION.

i think thats good imo.... this will drop a decent amount of weight from the front end...

These parts aren't cheap. It's real carbon fiber race-car parts. Not Seibon crap.

While I agree that its not CRAP......from the front end M kit that I possess....they are NOT FULL CF built either.

I know this first hand because I've dissected the parts for study. I'd rather know than suspect and still speak.

Not to worry however, some methods require the use of E-glass or CSM- chopped strand mat. But they cannot claim FULL Cf manufacturing .

For example.....their hood would be about 15-20K if the same weight of materials and methods were used and sold to Ferrari clientele.

We're getting off cheap compared for our lowly Z cars. Varis makes and designs good stuff. Probably the best available for our market currently IMHO.

( I am certainly NOT the local expert or claiming to be on VARIS, I'm just stating the parts that I've had my hands on.)

Agreed for the most part. We've installed VARIS parts on our MR E92 M3 project and the quality of this "real" carbon fiber is like NIGHT and DAY compared to "carbon fiber" that other name brands sell here in North America (talking about wet lay carbon fiber...very brittle and mostly FRP). The VARIS parts are real carbon fiber in the sense that it's actually very strong. Most of the "crap" that I refer to that are mostly FRP/CF composites feels brittle/flexible and very weak compared to the VARIS CF parts...all I know is that VARIS CF is manufactured using dry-woven autoclave techniques, like OEM BMW CF parts.

Here's some close ups of the VARIS diffuser we installed on our project...look at that weave!!!

Looking at around 10% discount off MSRP with a minimum of $10k worth of parts. We're looking to do around $20K combined with interest from E9X M3 and E85/E86 Z4M customers - can probably get close to 15% if that is the case. These are rough estimates.

Just to clarify for everybody - most VARIS parts are offered in Standard CF or VSDC Carbon - which is VARIS's most advanced in house CF MFG process (used for racing). There is a significant price difference between the two different versions so please make sure you gents make the distinction.

Gents - please state exactly what you'd be interested in - part wise. Also note the specific version of CF you want as well so we can start crunching some numbers!

Not for $2250. You have to get the $4500 version for carbon fiber.
