Did I get the wrong FCAB Shipped to me???
So I got my FCAB pulled out today and ran to work to borrow our arbor press (good call, would have never gotten them out with the vice...) and then I popped in the Powerflex ones I bought and they popped right in by hand. I really expected them to have to be pressed in.
Then I played with them and they had a little giggle to them and the more I looked the more I was convinced they were not right. Even with the middle in them, you can wiggle them around easily. They wont fall out, but you can spin them with no resistance. That can not be right - correct? I then logged into my ECS account online (they are closed for the weekend already) and see that I ordered a "PFF5-4601X2" and this box is marked "Pff5-4601M3" - so if I am not just being stupid - they sent me the wrong thing - right? Man - now my car is in the air in the middle of my shop with everything tore off of it and I wont be able to get new ones till probably later next week. I was really hoping I was just being stupid, but the more I look the more I think I got the wrong things and I am done till I get the right ones. Edit - As I was packaging them back up, I think I found the issue. I think ECS labeled them wrong when they received them in. The red arrow points to their label which has the part number I ordered on it, but the green arrow points to the Powerflex label that has the wrong one. Man - that just shot my whole weekend...........and now my garage is all blocked off too.

Yep looks like you got the M3 bits
Bits for a standard 3 series E46 would fit but not M model.

Yeah, that sucks. The sway bar bushing were right, so I got those changed out, but I am screwed on the FCAB's. Maybe with a pic they will expedite some to me.
Probably will be out of stock for a month knowing my luck......

I have had great service from ECS but everyone makes mistakes it just sucks when it happens to you.
Guys on here have reported that ECS has express shipped replacement parts when they do make a mistake, hopefully they come through for you

If they don't have them in stock, get some "heavy duty" rubber ones. Bavauto has some that are already pressed into the brackets.

Yes, I have had good luck with them so far. This is the first problem I have had, so we will see how they do. I am sure they will take care of it, mistakes happen. Just wish I would have noticed it sooner!

Well, I called them first thing this morning and basically got told short and sweet "send me a picture" with no "sorry" or anything and it is now almost 3 hours later and I have not heard a single thing back from them. I know it is Monday, but a little customer service goes a long way in my book.
I guess I will call after lunch if I have not heard anything back. Did not seem to want to be bothered with it this morning. He did say he thought they had them in stock, so fingers crossed.

typical ECS customer service.
I think a few people have ordered the stock ones from BavAuto only to be told they're no longer available preinstalled in the metal brackets. I would start looking for a backup plan so you don't have the car in the air for 2 weeks while ECS screws around. |

Actually - they just emailed me back. They are overnighting the parts no charge and they should be here tomorrow and sent me a UPS return label to pop these back to them. All of which I did not request, they just did it.
Great customer service - especially for someone that has not done a ton of business with them. Mistakes happen, it is how you handle those mistakes that makes or breaks you in my book. Nice work ECS.

Wow - yeah, I definitely had the wrong ones - these were tighter than I expected and the arbor press was a great help getting them in.
Props to ECS for great customer service. Accidents happen, but making it right is what matters in my book. They overnighted the right ones before they even had the wrong ones back. My hat is off to them, I figured it would be a few days anyway. Great customer service on their part.
