Those will not work on your 08- you need a 921 size bulb like the 68 smd 921 bulbs mentioned earlier. I just ordered two of them off EBay for $8 shipped.

8W total..
http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/rever...79-1-pair.html

Are there reflectors inside the reverse housing ? if there is multiple bulbs can help reflect right ? if there isn't one of those cree going directly to the rear is better ?

Try to get 30W CREE's if you can find in your type of bulb, they light up the rear of the car almost as strong as fogs!

I'll post a few pictures in a week or two, just waiting for weather to improve before taking her out of storage.

The 921 style bulb is pretty wimpy compared to the 1156. It doesn't even have a metal base(just part of the glass with wire contacts). I doubt there is a super powerful version). i really wonder why they changed the bulb type to something so weak on the newer cars.

I just bought these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160790429504...84.m1439.l2649

I'll report back on how they work. They were the highest wattage I could find.

Do you have a meter that you can use to check the polarity of the voltage on your socket?
Did you try the bulbs with a 9V battery so see which end is positive?
I haven't had time to test them. I'll just keep the regular bulbs for now

Just installed these and I thought I've seen bright before, but these are ridiculous. Love them! Great visibility and no errors!

Got any pictures? Daytime or nighttime would be great to see how they look.

Ok, so I finally got around to putting these in. They are bright and intense, but I think there could be better options. Because these only have one focused bulb, I think a bulb which would make better use of the reflectors might put out more light overall.

When you back up, others will definitely see you backing up. But the overall light output wasn't what I was hoping for. I'm going to continue my search and look for a multi array set.

Anyone have a multi array set that can comment? I think with the usage of the reflectors, we could get a whole lot more light output.

No errors though.

I'd be curious about something like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-194-168-T...c6e2bb&vxp=mtr or these, but at $38 a bit expensive just to "try out" http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-CREE-Q5-5...f10ca3&vxp=mtr

I can comment that I've tried the first link, and those are bright but i still couldn't see too well when backing up. The second link it appears they use an older cree led chip the Q5. You want to look for a bulb that uses the R5. Loving mine so far! Can't ask for more!

I'm sure without tint, it would be better. With my 15% tint I'm having trouble... =(

I'm thinking of redoing the tint. The bulbs are really bright, but I'm just thinking with some side leds making use of the reflectors, you could get more ambient light. I think the design of the rear light housing is the biggest weak point though. How much light do they expect to be output from the tiny little slit. Looks good, but functionally weak.

I like your theory and hope that the 68 smd bulbs I ordered will work well as they have so many leds on the sides which will use the reflector. We will see when I receive them.

Please let me know how they work out! I'm on the fence of removing the CREE LED because my wife thinks its borderline rice... And the Halogen probably lights up more.
