Here are some quick teaser shots of the bumper and side skirts installed. I'm still missing the tow hook cover (didn't realize it needed a different one than the one on the M bumper). Put some yellow lamin-x on the fogs, and had the body shop guy custom paint the front emblem (blue parts black, chrome outer ring black).

Once it stops raining here and once I get the tow hook cover I'll take better photos with a real camera.

I LOVE the side skirts and bumper, they make the car look really classy in my opinion. Like everyone says, the M should have come with the skirts, the lines really compliment the existing creases on the car. I know there are some purists that cringe at the fact I replaced an M bumper with a bumper that was meant for a non M car, but I really like the way it flows. I was never a fan of the "overbite" look of the front bumper when viewed from the side.

I didn't hook up the fog lights yet, I'll save that for another time when it's dry out and I have more time to put into it.

Looks awesome!

I was going to say that the tow hook cover might be the same for the pre-facelift bumper and the Aero bumper, but I don't actually know. I don't think I ever tried to put the cover on the Aero bumper because I have the gomimigo tow hook license plate bracket.

God that aero bumper looks good. I agree on you about the "overbite" look

Psygnosis, I had the M bumper on before, so the tow hook cover is actually bigger and kinda flat on one side. No matter, just ordered one from Tischer so it will be solved soon.

Finnegan, yeah, a friend of mine works at the body shop of a local BMW dealer, so it's factory paint and the guy is super talented, not the first time he's painted parts for one of my BMW's, and will certainly not be the last.

Roffle...man, it's amazing in person, the side profile is that much more sweet now that the bumper doesn't have the overbite look. The guy that painted it for me installed it as well, and we did the install at his house. His wife came out several times just to chat and see the progress, and when it was all said and done she couldn't stop commenting on how much better the car looks with the parts on.

Is that a scuff on the right corner?

I like how you painted your roundel too. The car looks really nice. I had the aero bumper and side skirt on my Z4 and traded in for the M.

Adds another dimension to our angular M cars, so I'm in. Still on the fence about weather or not I would want to pair them with an Areo bumper. Our M bumper is M specific so it would seem like bad juju to remove it
I agree with that, the M front is the bomb to me. I had the Aero kit as a top wish list item for my 3.0i, but I will keep my M front end, I like it better. Plus what are you going to do for air on your brakes? With running lights up front that blocks out the extra air.

Happy Motoring.

Yeah it was a tough choice for me, putting non M parts on an M seemed a bit odd, and the M bumper looked great from most angles except the side. Overall I'm happy with my aero bumper, I feel like it flows well with the lines of the coupe.

Regarding the brake ducts, when I was replacing the bumper covers, I finally realized that the brake duct positioning is not idea. Unless you have your wheels fully turned in either direction, all the ducts are doing are cooling the tires. At least the ducts on my E46 were aimed at the brakes, but on the E86 they're aimed at the tires...

Hahah...not really for cooling the brakes, but if you're driving in wet weather they will help dry your tires...kinda...not really...hahah

I wonder how much grief my wife will give me if I buy the side skirts a and bumper now. These are upgrades I wasn't planning on doing for another year or two.

The side skirts are definitely a will do for me. Have to save up a bit since I blew bunch on my wheels, xpipe and MStache. But wow those side skirts do make a difference. the aero bumper doesn't do much for me, my M bumper with the Mstache lips is enough. For now...
