There is absolutely nothing better than getting up really early, having the roads essentially to yourself, and enjoying the connection and experience with driving these cars provide. |

Thanks! I'll probably be more active again like I wants was on the forum. I'll spare you the details, but the last 5+ years of my life have just been crazy beyond belief. There hasn't been time. That's finally settled. Phew!

Right there with Eisenmann but lighter. I've listed the cans I've had on the car below. These are my ranking from best to least desirable if you're drone adverse and have neighbors and/or attentive cops. YYMD if you prefer louder and aren't bothered by some drone. Strömung - great workmanship, lighter than stock, very low drone (maybe a hint at 2.2K, not where we really live), stealth like at low input/revs, opens up nicely when you get on it. IMO it's so much fun to work on these cars. I even not sure what is more fun for me - to service / repair / improve her or to drive her PS: that's a really great car you've got! Congrats! |

The "sad" It's more commentary on service quality in general. Every now and then it would be nice to be able to rely on others in time constrained situations. Yet I find that often is a false bargain. I do my own plumbing, appliance repair, etc, for the same reason, generally speaking I do better work. Appliance repair is more daunting than these cars. I know the car well, something I can't say about my new dryer, which I had to totally disassemble to convert to LP. Fortunately it's easy to take video to document. Which is handy for putting things back together. Re: car, thanks! I'm really happy with the car, and that no LP conversion is required. |

Eventually, I'd like to get a perfect balance between intake noise and exhaust noise. Already did secondary cat deletes on this car, but the Stromungs might just make it perfect. Unfortunately, the Z has moved at the back of my priority list, such is life. But she'll be back eventually! I sure do miss driving that car.

Placerville....
....that's an awesome little town; love that area of CA....that's at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range....correct?
I grew up in San Diego and our family would drive to the Sierra Nevada mountains....and take Tioga Pass....and go to June Lake.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
