Z4 Fuse Reference card - one example.

This is one example of a Fuse Reference Card for the Z4, "GB" version with text labels rather than symbols. I am NOT certain which Z4 models/years this covers, although they all appear largely consistent.

Another example from a Z4M can be found HERE:

Another factory version, presumably British.

I like #30, the "thiefproofing system"...

Bringing this back since I pulled the fuse on my headlight washer after trying to source parts to fix that "hole" of the missing cap. Fuse #40 is what I pulled. I tested out with several pulls of windshield cleaning and headlight on, the headlight washer doesn't pop-up any more... Finally..

While I was looking at the fuse box and the diagram, I realized that my #4 has a 20amp fuse half way inserted. According to the above diagram, #4 is not used. So I pulled that #4 fuse.

I crank the engine to make sure everything is in working order. Car turned over, engine started and everything seems fine. In just about 1.5 second, it dies. So I tried again. Car turns over, all is good, press the gas pedal to rev the engine, it just dies. Put the #4 fuse back in. Everything works normally.

What does this #4 fuse do?

TIA,

Is fuse 30 just for the alarm? (Which I want to deactivate) it won't affect anything else?
