Can someone who's purchased this $38 alarm chime in?
1. Will it work in an 07 Z4M coupe as well as an 06 Z4M roadster? 2. Does it include the incline sensor; or does it only monitor the doors/hood?

Does this alarm include the incline sensor?
Trying to figure out what the difference is between the $38 alarm and the $120 one.

Alarm Fully Functional
I bought the cheap kit from Tischer and it did nothing, no chirp on lock or unlock. I tried disconnecting the battery & reinstalling with no luck. I took the car to my independent BMW guys, Shade Tree Garage in Raleigh, for another issue and they activated the alarm for free. Works perfectly now. Now if only the damn car would start when hot I'd be money. The car has 27,000 miles and will be on it's third fuel pump.

I thought I had a problem with my system the other day.
It had been activated & working perfectly to that point. When I locked the car I wasn't getting the chirp; unlock got the 2 chirps OK. It turned out the the passenger door was not fully closed. It's a feature I didn't know about.

An Update...
Finally got my alarm chirping and working properly after encoding. What a hassle for something that should be considered "routine"...left it at the dealer for 3 days before they finally got it right (4 days if you count the first time I took it in about a month ago). They finally gave up and had to put in a case with BMW for help. Essentially, they have to Disabled everything on the CKM coding (I believed it's the Car Key Memory coding), then Re-Enabled everything to get things to work properly...just a heads up for anyone who can't get the single "chirp" to work after encoding. |

Glad you got it working.
I can't understand why some are a problem & others are a breeze.

Something else I found out.
I pressed the release for hatch, then got out. Closed the door and locked the car. Did not hear a chirp, then remembered the last couple of post here. Removed what I needed from the trunk and shut the hatch. As soon as the hatch closed, the car beeped, letting me know the car is NOW locked. Cool... |

Anyone found that when the alarm is armed, you can't use the remote to just open the hatch? You have to disarmed the alarm first before the remote will open the hatch. This is different than what I'm used to in my X5, which would allow me to open/close the hatch using the remote without having to shut off the alarm first. As a matter of fact, most of the other cars I've owned operates like the X5. Something I'll have to get used to, I guessed

Good to know that it will arm the alarm only after everything has been shut...nice subtle feature!

Same with the hood. I leave it unlocked in the garage so I can unhook my CTEK when I leave.

I am in the same boat, as my Z4 was produced in 11/2002. I need the retrofit instructions as the above pdf pics are blacked out. Or even better, a way to make the 40 dollar alarm work.....Thanks
