The side skirts just give you a beefer look to the car, the M's should have come standard with them already in place, but hey its all good. I love the look.

So a month or two after having these installed, I noticed the front edge of the Aero sides are not staying clipped in. I get the feeling the black plastic trim behind the Aero sides is the root of the issue. Anyone else have this problem?

Checking realoem, I believe it's part 2...

I have not noticed it on mine, I have had mine on now for 2 months. After looking at another black car with aero kit and the mud flaps I am going to order the mud flaps to help keep the rocks off the aero side skirts.

I've noticed it on mine but it's not been bad enough that I've been motivated to do anything about it.

I was going to try my hand at clear braing the entire side skirt once I have them painted. The only tricky part I figure is the corners.

That would be a interesting idea. I know some folks have put clear shields over the quarter panels of the rear wheels. This road trip to ZFest has given me a couple of little nicks, and a nice ding on the mustashe from a loose piece of wood, but all still looks pretty good.

They don't make pre-cut clear bra's for the aero skirts, so it will have to be a DIY.

I was either going to do just the first 1/4 and last 1/4, or just do the whole thing.

interested in the mudflaps however???? any pics?? ive never seen them fitted to an aero kitted vehicle. Edit just seen, they look great on a black car, no so good on other colours :-( Love the ec-7s Btw they look perfect size....

Bruce J has them on his red SI and they look great to off set all the red. Sunzout has them on his black SI, which he as the whole areo package on that car.

I'm not sure about the non-M models but when adding an aero side skirt to M cars the aero side skirt needs to be trimmed on the backside of the area you say is coming loose. Otherwise it does not seat well into the groove. Maybe a little trimming is necessary for the skirt to push in all the way. I actually had to trim mine twice to get it right. If that is not the problem, I'd buy some weather seal type glue and add it to the inside of the skirt that slips into the groove. Then tape it with painters tape until it sets. That should hold it.

Basically the issue I'm having is that the front clip on both sides won't snap together. If what you're saying explains this, then I guess the same applies to me. Either way I'll take a look although a visual would be great, I'll search around.

For those that had them installed for a while, has there been a lot of rock chips and road rash? More or less than the stock?

Same as stock, if any chipping occurred it'd be more a function of the new paint

PRETTY SWEET LOOKING!

Dropping off mine for paint on Monday...but I can't install them until they cure for 90 days and I clear them.

Oh well, something to look forward to in the spring.

90 days seems awfully long for it to cure. Doesn't your shop use a spray booth oven?

If they have the special oven or whatever is they cure it in they can put the clear bra on the same day. I had my aero side skirts and front aero bumper painted the same day and they also applied 3M clear bra. I only put clear bra on front bumper. So far my side skirts have held up very well.

My car was painted and returned to me 3 days later and they painted the side skirts and nose. They must have done something right because nothing has scratched or chipped in the 2 months since I have had the car back.

90 days seems slightly unusual.

Just saying.

Thanks for the shots Finnegan. Mine are on order and hope to get painted soon along with the front bumper. Will be adding mud flaps to try to save them from some of the chips.
