Center vents intermittently closed on it's own

I'm starting to run into a recurring issue with the center vents closing on it's own after a few weeks. To get it to open up again, I have to change the selection knob to redirect the air to the windshield or floor and then back to "face". Has anyone ran into this issue? If so, did you find a cause? Thanks.

Does the air get redirected elsewhere?

Are you by chance turning the automatic function off/on?

The air does not get redirected.

I don't use the AUTO function. The only thing that's running is the fan...so it is always set at 2 or 3 clicks.

sounds like a actuator issue honestly. Odd thats it's just the center vents and not the sides as well.
