Help with CA smog

I have a 2006 z4 m with a ess sc kit. Everything else is stock with stock cat. My obd2 readiness show the cat and o2 not complete. I found out those 2 monitor is unavailable with the ess tune. I contacted ess and they don't have a California obd2 compliant tune for this car. They won't send me a new tune with those monitor on. I need a tune that'll accommodate my sc and also compliance with CA obd2 readiness. Shady smog is not an option for me.
I'm reaching out to all Z4 owners for some guidance.

Thanks

I'll defer to others on the ESS tune, however, CA requires a visual inspection for smog as well. You will need to find a station that is lenient on that as well - I got flagged for a simple intake (Eventuri).

Why go through the trouble of paying hundreds for a new tune to pass obd2 smog to still have the trouble of passing visual inspection? There are shops that can smog the car for ~$150 cash and they don't even need the car to be there.. just need the vin to enter in their system. Looking at your location you're in SGV, there are PLENTY of people out there who can smog the car in that area.

ESS does have an emissions-friendly tune. Did you email AJ directly?

Visual is fine, most place here looks other way. It just getting the obd2 readiness monitor in ready mode.

If I get a tune that'll pass CA smog, it'll be easier for me to sell the car in the future. On top of that, every shop that I knew told me it's very difficult now, cause they did some sort of update. If you know a shop, PM me.

AJ's the one who replied to my email. He said they don't have a CA smog compliant tune for the S54 motor, and there's nothing he can do for me.

I thought about loading the stock map, but I'm afraid it might trigger the CEL of the SC.

You won't be able to run the stock map because of the ESS injectors. I had a friend pass OBD emissions with one of their tunes, but I guess they decided not to offer it any more.

I'll be in SoCal in a few weeks and could probably put something together for you if you have your stock tune.

JDM, do not hesitate to engage Pokeybritches. He is an exceptional tuner and top guy to deal with.

Smog stations are not lenient, and they can lose their license for fraudulent inspection. I highly doubt you will be able to get anyone in SoCal to smog your car with an obviously not stock supercharger mounted.

Nothing they do will be CA compliant. Maybe you are wording it incorrectly. What you need is an off-road tune that just happens to put all the sensors in a "ready" state. Just tell them it's only for off-road purposes and you hate to see the little light on. I think evolve had a tune that did that.
