There is no added benefit to waiting longer, and if it's exposed to elements it kinda just dirties it up more so then anything.

I've been doing it since I was 15, nearly every uncle/cousin owns a concrete company from Long Island to VA. Family convos tend to always end up being concrete related at some point lol

I still miss it. And I'm jealous that you have TWO garages. I finally have one!

There have been some minor updates, painted the outside human door to match the red trim but haven't rehung it yet, landscaping is done around the outside. I'm waiting for the paving to be in to pester this thread with more pictures. Not only will this be my first garage, it will be my first paved driveway.

Pavement! Landscaping! It's starting to not look like a construction site anymore!

Mr. Big checks out the new driveway.

Looks amazing! Got any interior pics too? Belay that last bit - I just scanned through the thread and there are lots.

Wait. what's all that room on the left side? Why not four garages? Surely your wife would have agreed with a spot for her weekend car (for you to test drive and perform carburetor maintenance on every so often).

I jest.

Looking very nice. I'm sure Hemmings will be knocking on your door any day now for a cover photo.

I do have to say I'm jealous over the frost-free stand pipe installation. I need to do that at my place. Nice attention to detail.

Are you ready for this -- my electrician installed it! He's a "neighbor" (in the country sense) and a good guy. He got pulled into doing the electrical at the last minute by the contractor and then they sprang "oh by the way there's a water line running out there too" on him the day before he was showing up. He got it done anyway.

He tells me these buried valve thingies still fail occasionally and need to be dug up and replaced, so I'm planning the doorway area surface finish accordingly.

I have to drag about 100 feet of hose from around back of the house. Total PIA to wash cars. I've got 5, so if I bring the hose to do one, I have to do all 5, so it takes most of the day.

This looks epic - well done and will be a reference when I stumble towards a more "forever" house / lot.

On a much smaller scale I recently worked to insulate and drywall my humble space. Hoping to add some improved storage etc in the coming months.

First world problem, but still ugghhh. I poked a hole through the 2-foot thick stone on the bank side of our bank barn house and ran a hunk of brass pipe through. Otherwise I would be doing the same thing! That said I still have 100 feet of hose on my reel, to reach the edges of the yard on that side. The garage standpipe will help reduce that to something more tolerable.

Nice work! Fist bump from a fellow Ford guy.

To be honest my space is going to be a bit on the tight side. Some of it is due to local legislative restrictions, one of the joys of living in the country. Plus the space we had to work with was such that it just couldn't be much bigger than it is. I'm already looking at ways to make the most of a limited space.
