Thinking of running 245/40/18 and 275/35 on stock suspension.
that's a quite safe/standard setup. Depending on what kind of tires you run, they shouldn't rub at all.
So you think it will be fine with 245/40 and 275/35?
Yes. They should be fine, depending on what tires are you trying to run? Any slicks or 200tw tires will have more of a square tire shoulders, and you might rub at the rear with 9.5 width at et20 and stock suspension setup.

I have ran 275 & 10 width et20 at the rear with PSS tires. They rub slightly at extreme conditions on OE setup.
Was thinking pilot ss.

The consensus on here seems to be 245/35 and 275/30

But I can only seem to find 275/35r18 online which is why I was looking at 245/40 and 275/35.

pilot ss are fine.

245/40 & 275/35 combo for 18"
245/35 & 275/30 combo for 19"
235/35 & 265/30 combo for 19"
these are the popular spec

Can anyone suggest specs for both wheel and tire for any OZ leggera/superleggera wheels?

Really trying to understand wheel specs but its confusing and import of commonly used wheels sold in US wheels is to expensive to import

I just recently purchased a z4 m and was looking for a square setup. Does anyone know if it's possible to run a 18x9 or wider on all 4 wheels without any rubbing? I'm more concerned about the fronts rubbing on full lock.

I'm running stock suspension with stock alignment ATM.

I'm running 18" SM-10s, 9.5 et35 with 265 on all four corners. Stock suspension, but camber washers and pins pushed in for -2.5 camber. 12.5mm spacer rear, 5mm spacer in front

Do you think it would fit with the stock camber?
And are u running spacers to add more clearance for the suspension?

The front spacer is to clear the strut with the camber washers installed. With alignment pins pulled, strut all the way in (~1 degree) you could probably make it.

I would suspect you could get rubbing on the outside of the tire if you didn't have at least one degree negative camber. With out camber washers, the need for the 5 mm spacer drops. The wheel won't be as close to the strut due to lower angle stock vs washers.

The rear it's to clear the inner wheel well. Usually, you would end up with an Et27 clearance with this wheel/tire size. The spacer gets us very close to that number, with spacers front/rear have, you can rotate tires and wheels around. And have a square setup.

Spacers

Good morning. I'm running a totally stock configuration with Pilot Sports and a smidgeon of additional camber up front. In discussions with grandson, we've agreed that the car would look better with the wheels pushed away from the body a bit with spacers. Any experience or insight concerning the widths of the spacers that would work or look best?
Thanks,
Ted

10-12mm is generally the sweet spot before you start rubbing. If you go above 10mm, make sure you get hubcentric spacers. I'm on OEM suspension and alignment and have 12mm Rogue Engineering spacers up front. I use them with stock wheels during the winter and E46 M3 ZCP wheels during the summer with no issues.

The rear wheels sit too far inboard when I'm running the stock wheels, but I'm not as concerned about the looks when the stock wheels are on. The ZCP wheels look perfect in the rear without spacers.

Thanks!! So, with the OEM wheels, I'm OK with 10mm spacers front and rear? The E46 M3 ZCP wheels look GREAT, but only available in 19", correct.

I would probably go straight to 12mm. You may run into issues clearing the stock hub lip with a 10mm.

The ZCP wheels are 19's but you can get VMR reps in 18's. Or go with Apex. They have plenty of great options and very good fitment guides.

Just lowered the car on stock wheels and stock sizes 225/255 MPSS. For spacers I was thinking I go 20mm front and 12mm rear for flush fitment. 12mm in the front doesnt seem like enough. What do you guys think? No added camber other then what naturally occurs when lowering

Hi Ryank382,

I did a bit of messing around with spacers before choosing new wheels, so hopefully I can help.

The first picture is with the standard wheels and a 12mm spacer. It didn't look bad but I thought that another 5mm further out would look better.

The second picture is with an 8.5 inch wheel, +35 offset with a 10mm spacer (and a R18 235 40 tyre). So, it is equivalent to the stock 8 inch +42 wheel with a 23mm spacer. I think this setup looks spot-on but 3mm further in (i.e. using a 20mm spacer) would look great too.

A 12mm spacer on the back will be fine - this is exactly what I had in the third picture.

My car is still standard height and geometry. If you're lowered, you may have more camber and it won't look quite like the pictures of my car.

Thank you for the help! I actually got 15mm for fronts and 12.5 for the rears. Will be fairly low so with the added camber it won't look as pushed out as yours but I'm ok with that. Rather not have any rubbing which i suspect might be the case going much lower with the effective final offset.

I'm also looking to get some new wheels and am trying to understand what I will need to make the 788 M2 rims (Front: 19x9 29/Rear: 19x10 40) fit my stock Z4M (Front: 18x8 42/Rear 18x9 30).

Using this calculator (https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Whee...et-Calculator#), it seems they will poke out an extra 26mm in the front. My inner clearance in the rear is reduced by 23mm. Will these numbers be a major issue with regular road use?

I'm limited in my knowledge here but tried to understand as much as I can before posting.

You may be OK with the front, depending on tire selection and camber settings. You want to aim for about a 25 offset in the rear...so a 15mm spacer will be needed to push out the rear to avoid inner liner rub.

Ahh okay I fully understand now, thanks for that. What about the front wheels though (off by 13)?

Furthermore why is 25 the magic number for the rear, considering stock is 30? It's quite confusing as some members aim for 23 (https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=911228) and various other numbers.

Although I feel I might be splitting hairs at this point...

It all comes down to tire selection. I'm telling you from my experience and what I've read through this entire thread. I run Conti Extreme DW 275/30R19 and with the 25 offset gets me about 15mm clearance from the inner fender liner and 10mm clearance from the outer fender were it meets the rear bumper. Some have reported rubbing the outer fender with a 22 offset...so your mileage may varies. I always go on the high side in offset because it is easier to correct if you rub on the inner fender - just add spacers to correct. If you go on the low side, it's difficult to correct if it rubs the outer fender - only options are running narrower stretched tires or add more negative camber, which can only do so much.

I have 35 offset for the front and run 245/35R19 - same Conti Extreme DW and that slightly rubs the outer fender liner (where the bumper and fender meets) on full compression. I know someone who also have a 35 offset that runs the same size tire (245/35R19), but with Michelin PSS and he has a slight rub on the inner rear fender liner on full lock. But most don't have issue with a 35 offset with 245/35R19 tires. A 30 offset will push it out another 5 mm, so it will clear the inner fender strut and liner for sure, but you may risk rubbing on the outer fender, which may be corrected (to a degree) if need by adding more camber and or running a narrower tire. Again, your mileage may varies depending on tire selection.
