I'm just saying that the suspect had no other reason to be stopped other than shoplifting some clothes, and using a helicopter to search for him seemed a bit excessive when the stuff he stole probably cost less than the aviation fuel they burned. Maybe the Fontana PD was trying to send a message to the public about being strict since the TV cameras were rolling, similar to what Arkansas does by publishing dashcam videos of officers ramming the cars of drivers who try to escape?

Glad to hear that at least one part of California is still trying to uphold the law.....

We all do it. It’s common practice among all the departments to utilize helicopters to assist us in suspect apprehensions for priority and emergent calls. A theft in progress call is a priority call.
