The tiny sensor that reads the roof completetely open is loose, help!!!

Hi guys,

I am very happy in the forum, a lot of great information, need again nicel help please.....

The sensor of my Z4 that reads the roof completetely open when you open it is loose and not in its place and I have 2 problems, one is the fear the roof cut the little cables of the sensor (I putted it in a safe place) and the other, the one that bother a lot me is that I have always flashing the red led light of the roof control, because the sensor never reads / knows when the roof is completely open.

I just bought the car so I want to have it almost perfect and want to fix this, the last owner told me the part where have to be located/placed that tiny sensor is broken and little complicated to do the fix or change the part, but dont know if that is true.

Do u know which one is the part that holds that sensor ? and where to buy it ?

Thank you so much in advance!!!!

The attached was posted on the UK z4 forum regarding the sensor and where to re-attach if they fall off.

https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=124374

If you follow the above posting, you'll come to pictures of exactly where and how the sensor should be reattached.

I'm hoping that your sensor is still attached to it's wiring.

You should direct your questions to "number 5" a member of the UK forum and the person who posted the pictures in the above link of the location of the sensor. He may be able to help you or let you know exactly how difficult this repair may become.
