Thx Azeka,
Nope, without the driver weight.. But just bought the heater core delete kit and a few other bits and pieces still to be removed.. should come down another 50 lbs at least.. So ive beern taking a few notes and it seems that my car runs pretty hot on the track, initially I thought it was just the olil temp that was high (130 degrees) … (seems after looking at the logs it even goes up to 135) but I thought the water temp was steady and in the green arc... (it might actually help if I would actually look at the gauges sometimes while screeming round the track) anyways, while looking at the logs, I can see that the water tempo is really high too.. :| So I bought a new Motorsport thermostat.. (55degree fully open)… (probably the old thermostat needed replacing anyways... lol) anyhows, hope this sorts out my issue. Ive also got the oil divertor and a heater removal kit on order... anyways, heres to hoping this will look better than this screenshot of one of my 32 laps last session. (thanks for the info Josh ) |

Ok slight update...
Motorsport thermo has been cancelled after many talks about correct water temp, which mine is) new OEM thermo ordered. New M6 oil cooler ordered. Heater core staying in, I've need advised that the heater core will reduce spikes in the water temp, other wise you do run a rush of running a cylinder hot. (Not my words, but it's plausable enough, so it's staying in) Prepping for another track evening today. Removed all four wheels to check lines and pads and rotors, all in awesome Nick.. really loving these brakes, thanks Chris ) Carbon fibre fabrics on the way for my door panel project. Should be super nice. Ordered 2x2 twill. Stay tuned on how my surfboard shaping skills have deteriorated over the years.. Right door mould pretty much complete.. left door mould, not so much so.. haven't started on that one yet..lol.. Last edited by Vanne; 02-21-2019 at 10:47 PM.. |

This could only be plausible if your cooling system is inadequate and you run with your heater valve open (cooking you in the cabin). |

You'll like these... I run the same engine mounts and the difference in the front end feel really surprised me. There is a bit more vibration at idle to 1200 rpm but i really dont think its that bad.
I am running the Rogue Transmission mounts but he the AKG mounts to put in at some point.

Bought a set of 2.5inch risers to get that wing in some cleaner airflow.
Modification required of course.

Hey Vanne,
I love this build! I have a Z4m Roadster and I have done a few track days with it, and plan to do many more. Long ago I raced formula cars and, as a result, have great appreciation for a good quality harnesses. I would like to put a harness, and probably a competition seat, into my Z4M Roadster, but NOT have to mount a roll cage. It looks like your mounting solution might work in a Roadster. Do you have any info on the harness mounting solution? Thanks! Eamonn |

On its way with a shit load of updates to be listed, just been super lazy in the off season. Parts have been arriving, just been involved a bit with my /other/ hobby that takes place when it's too stinking hot to go outside. Initial cooler before modding (not mine, just a pic from the web) The reason for the removal of the return line is that I have a secondary oil cooler in my right fang. So this loop will go from main to secondary back to the oil pump. An10 M20 fittings welded /taped onto new CFL oil cooler New Thermostat. And also a new oil pump diverter valve delete. Also new braided clutch line, and new Sachs clutch actuator. New front wheel bearings (due to a stud spin on a hub ) Lots of other little things, new dash control is a work in progress. S54 AN10 hook up for the oil pump engine side. new Braided clutch line new sachs clutch slave APR extended wing struts new front wheel bearing/hub bunch of an10 fittings and braided oil lines AS PART OF THE GEAR KIT: ------------------------------ 33121205138 securing plate for pinion (TURNER) 33121204657 crush sleeve (TURNER) 33107510289 output seals X2 (TURNER) TMK-HM803110 bearing race - ( From summit racing ) TMK-HM803149 inner pinion bearing - (From summit racing ) ------------------------------------------------------- (thanks goes to Ron for the extra part numbers and research that he did into which bits are needed) As a side note, my dash design has seen a few iterations. Includes dual temp sensor readout for intake. Temps and pressure indications for 4 wheels and pc hookup for monitoring software. Also includes new blip controls. Still on the hunt for a good HANS device.

Not yet, but I have to go back anyways, as ive decided that the left hand one needs to be welded in too. no use really in having it screw in. Pressure test to come.
edit: Turns out our diff (like the e46 m3) has free play on the right hand side, so ive ordered preload shim for that. LSD clutch plates (vented) also ordered.

I just spent most of the day checking out part numbers for the bearings for the diff. BMW doesn't list them and says they are non renewable.. bullshit..
Outer pinion bearing and race HM89449. (NO!! It's HM89448)/HM89410 Inner pinion bearing and race HM803149/HM803110 And 2x Carrier bearing and race JLM104948/JLM104910 And because Gonzalis is s freaking genius, and summit racing/timken have Thier catalog fucked up. HM89449 is actually HM89448 <--- have to Re-order this one Last edited by Vanne; 07-07-2019 at 10:23 AM.. |
